Version 4 vs version 5

How much of a difference is there between version 4 and version of the federation commander rulebooks? I have version 5 update and my friend has version 4! any major rules change that might cause confusion?

That is exactly what the CRUL was built to address! It will list all of the changes between Rev4 and Rev5.

Also, please check with sales@starfleetgames.com to see if the $3 "upgrade" offer is still available. If you have an existing pre-Rev5 rulebook, you can always get a new Rev5 version of the rulebook pretty cheaply. (Not to mention that the Reference Rulebook isn't exactly expensive at $15, either.)

I just got the reference Rulebook this weekend. Its definitely nice to have all the rules in one place!
