Advice for removing old decals

With Starfighter Decals new silkscreened Fed decals now available, I am contemplating the removal of the decals from my Fed DN and Fed TUG minis.

Does anyone have advice on doing so without harming the paintjob on the mini.

Soak them in water and use a stiff brush to remove them. Old toothbrush, or stiff brissled #2 wide paint brush works the best.
