I apologize if this has been posted before but I could not find it here in this forum.

The definition of the Range-Based Rate of Fire weapon trait for Phasers 1 and 2 has been accidentally left out of the original print run. These are the most common weapons in any fleet and it makes all the difference in the world.

And the phasers 1 and 2 are very powerful at close range. Maybe a tad too much.
BTW, the Tholian DD's diruptors should have ABD and ABC fire arcs.

Hope it's OK to bring up this old thread, but it seemed completely appropriate (rather than creating a new one and linking to this one).

Does anyone know if the Klingon Armada rulebook available on e23 has this errata incorporated into it?

Also, it appears that updated Fed DN and Kzinti DN ship cards (as mentioned in the errata link) are available here: http://www.starfleetgames.com/starmada.shtml

The e23 Ship Cards PDF file has been corrected.

Adding the missing ranged-based ROF language into Klingon Armada rules is on Steve's to do list. e23 should provide a notification after the error is corrected and ADB reposts the pdf file.

Is the Kzinti DN at http://www.starfleetgames.com/starmada.shtml suppose to match the one in the ship cards for Klingon Armada? If so, they don't. It looks like the arcs do not match.

From what I can tell (I just purchased Klingon Armada and have been reading through it), the Fed and Kzinti DNs available separately are the corrected/revised versions. The ones in the ship card book/pack have not been revised.

Garrett -- Hardcopy or e23 PDF version of the ship cards? I thought I had checked the Klingon Armada ones in the e23 PDF versus the errata and found them to be correct. However, maybe I missed something.

I purchased the e23 versions of Klingon Armada Rules and Klingon Armada Ship Cards yesterday (5-19-2011).

The following text was left out of section C4: Weapon Traits:

RANGE-BASED ROF*
A range-based ROF weapon has its ROF value decrease as the range to the target increases. When attacking a target at short range with such a weapon, its ROF value is tripled; when attacking a target at medium range, the ROF value is doubled.

At one point during playtesting, the space station ACC divisors (section B.17) were updated, but the change was never made to the text. The correct divisors are:

ACC 2+ = 2.1
ACC 3+ = 2.3
ACC 4+ = 2.7
ACC 5+ = 3.6
ACC 6+ = 6.5

The above is not incorporated into the e23 Rule Book.

The Federation Dreadnought should have four additional phaser-1s, with the following firing arcs: [GHI][GHI] [JKL][JKL]. This increases the ship's cost to 620, and changes the weapon damage chart to be: 1-3: XZ; 4-5: X; 6: Y.

The Kzinti Dreadnought should have three additional phaser-3s with the following arcs [ACEF][ACEF][ACEF]. This increases the ship's cost to 670, and the changes the weapon damage chart to be: 1: XY; 2-3: XZ; 4: YZ; 5-6: Y.

The Fed DN and Kzinti DN in the e23 Ship Card pack are incorrect. The Fed DN and Kzinti DN ship cards available separately at http://www.starfleetgames.com/starmada.shtml are fully revised and correct. It would be nice to have the corrected versions incorporated into the e23 Ship Card Pack at some point.

BTW, the Tholian DD's diruptors should have ABD and ABC fire arcs.

The Tholian DD ship card has not been corrected in the e23 Ship Card pack and a corrected version is not available separately (as far as I can find).

Finally, some of the first books had a glitch on a few of the starship data cards.

Federation Heavy Cruiser:
X Battery firing arcs should be [AC][AC] [BD][BD] [GHI][GHI] [JKL][JKL]

Klingon D5:
Z Battery firing arcs should be [CGHI][CGHI] [DGHI][DGHI]

Klingon D5W:
Z Battery firing arcs should be [CGHI][CGHI] [DGHI][DGHI]

Kzinti Battlecruiser:
Z Battery firing arcs should be [CGHI][CGHI] [DGHI][DGHI]

The four above ship cards *ARE* corrected in the e23 Ship Card Pack and no further action is needed.

Really, these are all pretty minor issues, but it's good to have them documented.
