Juggernaut Armada!

Post by Nerroth »

Hi.

For those of you who didn't see the developments for SFB in some recent Captain's Log issues, things have gotten really interesting for Juggernaut enthusiasts these days.

For one, there is the Beta variant of the standard Juggernaut; which includes powerful Shriek missiles (closer to tricked-out Omega tachyon missiles than your average drone in terms of size and power) for a nominal fee.

Then came a pair of cruisers from the Juggernaut fleet; the CA and CL.

Now, in CL41, the makings of a full Juggernaut Empire is well and truly on the cards (so to speak), with a frigate and destroyer, a missile variant* of the standard Juggernaut (or Juggernaut DN, in this new context)... and an even more fearsome Juggernaut Battleship!

The BB can give even an Andromedan Devastator some serious trouble, even before you start looking at its array of stablemates.

In the Starmada context, the Juggernaut Empire might well work a lot better as an invading force of ships, rather than in the lone encounters that more traditional encounters with Juggy tend to turn out as.

(As an aside, Space Dragons are varied enough to work as a kind of 'fleet'; though that might happen more often when cloned dragons are being used as ships by the martial Branthodon Regime.)

Could a Juggernaut Empire 'booster' for Starmada work as an e23 download, or might it be an idea to include the range of ships as part of a larger module?

*Just when you thought the one Juggernaut mini was enough... I wonder if anyone will be getting a second Juggy to convert into the DNM? (Along with some drone minis to count as Shrieks, of course.)

You know Gary, I reckon some Fed F-18 fighter miniatures could be kitbashed to look like awesome Shrieks.

Somebody designed and built them --

C&C or GHQ makes SA-2/3/6s --- any of those probably about the right size for Shrieks --- plenty of other Air to Ground missiles in that scale also that could stand-in ---

C-in-C makes then in 1:285 scale. They're what I use for drones.
A bit bit forhte standard drone... but would work nicely for a Shriek.
