Well, my group mostly uses 1" counters. Our Lyran player has his fleet. I have bits and pieces of a Fed Fleet (Fed Com Squadron Box 1 plus a few odds and ends) which needs repainting and some need to be restanded since they fell and snapped the plastic peg off... But the rest of the guys that play have no miniatures - one of which will never pick them up. "It's a wargame not a miniatures game," being his war cry there.

When I run convention events, I use similar maps (Htz ArtWorks 2" hex space maps) because you can put two ships in a hex. I have my ships on different height flight stands to make this easier.DirkSJ wrote:Wow huge map! Of course, we also have a couple of 4 foot by 8 foot felt star maps with 2 inch hexes, so the minis aren't crowded together.. I would love to try minis on that size map!
Does it lead to ambiguous facing at times though?
As for ambiguous facing, its usually just a matter of keeping things tidy as you play - and most times, It's obvious what the facing is based on the movement - thank the Old Kings for turn modes
