JimDauphinais wrote:It is eight as Terry forgot to list my name (he had earlier sent me a confirmation). Based on earlier posts, I expect ScoutDad (Tony T.) will be signing up as well. So, I expect we will have at least nine. If someone among us is willing to step up to Assistant GM, I expect Terry could play as well if he wants and that would get us up to at least ten.
Fleet submitted.
If Terry needs help, I'm willing to help out however I can...

Yes, I have Jim's and Scoutdad's. Jim's was mislabeled in my email file.

Edit: Lee, sorry to hear about your father. If this tournament is successful, I'll run another early in 2011.

All, thanks for signing up it looks like it will be a fun event :)

Unless you are closing off sign ups? I might join yet, By the back end of next week I should be past what the doctors were saying was the most likely time scale for the body to reject the op he had.

Looks like everyone still has 10 days to decide, select a squadron and enter.

Yes everyone has until the end of the 30th (U.S. time, I'm about 10 hrs ahead of you :) ) So I hope you Lee can play this time. If not, I'll run more events in future. Everyone else, there is still time to work out a squadron and enter :)

Initial Match-Ups

Post by terryoc »

I have randomised the first-round match ups by writing everyone's name on a separate index card and shuffling them. There are an odd number of players, so someone will be getting a bye. The point of this is to get some more games happening on FCOL, so if that player wants, I can play a game against them but still count their game as a win no matter the result of the game.

OK here's the matchups:

Bill Barnes (Kzinti) vs Fred Kreller (Kzinti)
Drew Klenotic (Federation) vs Garrett Turner (Kzinti)
Pinecone (Federation) vs Jim Dauphinais (Tholian)
Philip Moore (Kzinti) vs Eric Phillips (Lyran) [Should be a fun one, classic battle here!]
Patrick Doyle (Kzinti) vs Tony Thomas (Orion) [Another interesting match up, two very experienced FC players]
Paul Franz (Seltorian) vs BYE [The Selts should have an easy time of it here).

I'll be sending everyone emails with more details shortly. I'll make it 3 weeks from 1 September so you have until 21 September to get your games in. Good luck to all participants!

Cool! Will we be able to see the specific ship selection of each player's fleet ahead of time? Thanks,

I think we should post our play schedules for two reasons:

1. Because it will be fun to see some of these matchups.
2. Scouting future opponents.

The Doyle/Thomas match should be fun to watch.

I dunno. People can do write-ups after the tourney, but watching a battle means that those people's forces will instantly be revealed. I don't have a problem with it, but other people might.

isn't the ship choices becoming common knowledge anyway?
