Donjebruche Campaign: In Character

[Credits begin rolling for episode two. Skexis is shown leaving a shady motel room... a tiger-striped Lyran female curled up in the bed. Skexis puts on his sunglasses and slinks out. Captain Jack and Fred stash the unusual drawer in his pad... but then follow the sirens back to Tarsh's hotel, The Voyager's Refuge. It's guady neon arrow flashes and skimmers fly overhead as Captain Jack com's Skexis. Their mouths move, but you can't make out the words as more credits roll. All of them converge on the center of town to the hospital. They make their way through the cacophony of injured aliens to a waiting area where the 11 o'clock news is blaring. Captain Jack is carrying X'al Fen's appointment book and also has X'al Fen's wallet with him.]
"... The Galactic Survey Cruiser Magellan has been missing for weeks, tensions are rising in the neutral zone with every incident instigated by our cowboy Star Fleet captains, and now... a Klingon citizen is murdered in his own apartment by Federation members."
A picture of X'al Fen appears onscreen... along with a horrible, leering composite sketch of Fred and Captain Jack-- they only vaguely resemble the characters.
"Where do you see all of this leading, Olivette?"
"Oh clearly these incidents are all rooted in the same sort of bigotry that spawned the Oh Too Border Declaration. When, I ask you, are the people of the Federation going to wake up to this...?!"
[The scene zooms from the trivideo screen to Captain Jack as he enters Marcus Kane's hospital room along with Fred and Skexis. They briefly recount their experiences... but then begin to discuss (a) what they would have done differently if they could redo the evening's adventures and (b) what leads they want to follow up on next. GM requests that players put in their two cents in character before we roll on.... The characters are all safe and free to discuss the situation without fear of any devious drama-inspired GM type interruptions.]

Marcus as he is pulling the tubes and wires off himself,"Well Tarsh did give me something before he died. Hand me my pants." As he starts to get up. "I shouldn't care about what happened to Tarsh. I mean he was just a job. But it happened on my watch. That doesn't sit well with me. These mooks got the best of me and I owe them some payback.". He will give Capt Jack the data disc. (if its still there) saying,"See if you can do anything with this. He said to get it to um....Crap what was the name....Monkahole or something." He thinks for a second and says,"What was in that drawer? Maybe it is what the Lady in black was looking for. She siad somehting about an artifact."
[The appointment book has an expected entry for earlier this evening: "8:30 Tarsh Banshee Piece." For yesterday, it says "9:45 Rokerig Banshee $40,000," but it is crossed out and next to it is scrawled, "Cancelled-- Rechedule-- Top Priority."]
[Captain Jack hasn't discovered the contents of the drawer, yet-- GM is curious about how he intends to open it.]

Marcus is a little unsteady right now, but is able to slip out of the hospital.
[Computer Hacking 13 or less. (3d6=15)]
Captain Jack's beat up old Federation tricorder fails to get anything out of the data disk. After examining it, you feel like it has to be some sort of Klingon technology. You wonder if you might even need some special equipment to get anything out of it.
[Quick contest: Lockpicking @ 12 vs. ?? (3d6=11, 3d6=11)]
Captain Jack searches for some sort of mechanism in the drawer, but fails to find anything he can manipulate....
A tricorder reading indicates the outline of... a wing... or perhaps a fin of some kind.
Fred asks the group, "anybody have a guess as to how we can find this Mon Kah Huul person?"

Captain Jack agrees: "Yes, we should check out Tarsh's hotel room again for a reader for this data card. "
He tucks the data card into one of his internal zippered pockets.
We know something is in the drawer, and we'll need to get that open, however, we need to check out Tarsh's hotel room and Tarsh's items before they disappear.
