Is there still a kitbash kit of the plastic Gamescience parts, because I can't see it in the online store?
It's listed as Bag of plastic Fed parts.

Ah, in the Federation section! D'OH!

Serves me right for not looking properly. Thought it used to be with the other kitbash parts in the General Miniatures section!

Thanks OGOPTIMUS! 8)

I believe it was listed in the General section, but when the bags got re-tooled and they're not just tugs anymore, the "General" one went away.

You're welcome.

A (belated) thanks for the comments on those two.

These are some alternative Vudar, based on Semperatis' Irregular miniatures...

Ok,so I haven't built anything in a long time now,but I was thinking about the OCA the other day,and decided that I just had to build my own version. Now,as much as I like the new OCA,I feel that it's just not quite big enough i.e. it should have been widened as well as being lengthened. The other thing that I feel isn't right,is that with 15 box engines, the NCL ones used were really too short,so on my version, she'll get the full sized CA nacelles. This is the first ship that I've tried to build since I gave up making ships some 12 years ago,so she's not going to be all that good, but I'm going to give it a darned good try.

I started off by cutting out the rough shape of the hull to use as a base, then I built up the rear hull to 3 layers of card, and the forward hull to 4 layers thick. Then it was out with the file to chamfer the angles into the fore and aft hull sections. I built up the photon launchers using the struts off my spare tug warp engines, which were given new sturdier engine struts and mounted onto the rear hull. The bridge ring was made from a cut sliver of aluminium tubing. Once she's been undercoated,I'll have a better idea of where to position the detailing of the imp and shuttle bay doors,as well as the tractor mounts.

Ok,so the paint job won't win me any prizes, but bar the insignia for the Auroran's,that's her more or less ready for action.
