Lyran NCA versus Lyran NCA!

This should be an interesting battle, and it should give the winner a decided advantage in round two as it's pretty much a given that the winners two ships will function well as a squadron!

That's right, Tony...

You can't get a more even match up that two of the same ships facing off against each other. This is all going to come down to tactics, and like most games, who makes the less mistakes. With no seeking weapons on the board, its all its a ranged fight, which can last a while, but if they go inside at each other to use their ESGs, the battle may be fast and spectacular. As the mod, I am really looking forward to this one.

Actually, it'll come down to who makes the LAST mistake!

If they go point blank and cancel each others ESGs out it probably comes down to luck of the dice, who rolls most 6s for disrupter hits at range 1 or who comes off better on the DAC etc.

Really? I thought it would be my overall charm, suaveness, good looks, niceness, and aura of greatness that would get me the win.

And of course it helps that I'm extremely modest and humble as well. :P

Just so everyone knows, Eric told me that gratuities and renumerations would have a causal effect on the accuracy of his turn processing... 8)

Just last night I was imagining how Mojo and I would meet in the semi-final for an epic game to match our epic 'debates' we have had on the forums. Then I saw the ships everyone had choosen and what 4 ships we would each have at that stage. Crap! Mojo ends up with a seriously nice 4 ship squadron, whilst I get a pretty eclectic grouping.

On the other hand if Eric is accepting bri.. er, renumeration for moderating.. maybe Mojo will lose earlier

The poll shows a preference for random draws each round rather than a single elimination tree...

So, each rounds winners will be matched randomly.

Thats quite funny - I know they are identical ships, but come on, do we really need identical plots as well

I'm interested in what happened to result in such a massive difference in the damage as well - did the second ship forget to shoot
