Due to real life commitments, I've been unable to finish my round two battle with Paul - but I hereby concede that round to him.

Maybe i'll have better luck in round three...

Saturday is going to be the best day for me, Sunday would only be available in the evening.

Pinecone vs. Krellex completed!

Post by Krellex »

Wow, what a fight! Turn 3 saw me running away from the Pinecones fully overloaded photons. He finally got me within range and let fly against my CC, effectively gutting it. However, 3 drone racks lived along with a few power. Since all his tubes were empty, I turned in to the Fed fleet and let him have some overloaded disruptors. His BCH took a pretty good shot here and then my salvo of drones reached him, a few were shot down, 3 made it through and these really hurt him. He was left with about half his power, one photon and his plasma tubes and a couple phasers. He held one drone in tractor and killed it the next turn. Turn 5 we jockeyed for position towards the bottom of the map. End of the turn we were at range 9, so I hit his CC on the #1 and did a few internals. (Wasn't serious, but the shield was hurt pretty good.) Turn 6 was the decider. First impulse we were within OL range. Pinecone's barrage hurt my BCH a little below average, so she was still very viable for the fight. His CC was a different story, all 8 overloaded disruptors hit, and she was basically mission killed. I was able to launch a few drones, which he would not have been able to avoid, and since I turned away to avoid him plinking my BCH through the down shield (and prevented him pulling off another trick he had up his sleeve) he conceded. So, the tally is: My CC was trashed, BCH was hurt, but still feeling frisky, and my CL had some minor shield damage. Pinecones BCH was really dinged up, his CC as well, and his WD unscathed.

Indeed, a great battle. I made a horrible mistake by not turning some of the drone damage onto a nearly full shield of the BCF. ultimately, my undoing was taking the bait to attack before Krellex's drones were totally used up.

The results of the last two games need to be officially reported on the FC Online site.

Scoutdad & Andromendan

Pinecone & Krellex

http://www.sfbonline.com/show_results.j ... nt=fedcom1

I'd also like to see better enforcement of the deadline for this last round.

I completed my 2nd round game two months ago! That is much too long of a wait between rounds.

This said, I would agree that an additional week should be added for the holidays for this last round.
