I was kind of surprised when you did that.
I guess this is par for the course for an early 80's style space adventure...?

Okay... we've just about wrapped up the adventure here.
It was not my intention to do a big thing like the end of the Firefly pilot where you have to get your money through a big A-Team type moment. (Snipers, threats, etc.)
[I really expected Captain Jack to get hurt there in the last scene... and probably Skexis, too. Wah.]
Anyways...
What say if Muankaal just pays you... with a goodly bonus... (extra for the Cygnan Babe) and then... he offers to smuggle you off planet and into Klingon Space to get away from the Federation authorities... and you end up doing some more archeology related hijinx.
Just throwing that out there.
So this adventure we just finished would be the pilot episode of your TV series. Your show would mainly be planet/artifact of the week. (In space! In Klingon space!) And there would (maybe?) be some overarching threat that you're working to solve-- without the benefit of major government support. [Or something totally different than this as a result of an evil GM bait-and switch.]

Well, Captain Jack's past experience would say that if Muankaal didn't shoot us in our spot by now, he's probably not going to.
so it's a good idea to cash in on anything he has to offer, and he will pay us what he agreed to, especially if we turn over the lady in black who iced Tarsh.
and a side job into Klink space for an archeology run is always profitable... that's why they've typically hired rogues and other non corporate pirates in the past... Failing that, Captain Jack will rotate identities again and take everything he's got to get to his favorite face lift place...

(Rotate identities... again...?)
We're pausing the game then for a month or two. (GM is tired.)
You got paid 5000 for the data chip early on. Now you guys have 5000 for the artefact... and another 5000 for nabbing the figure-in-black. As a bonus, Muankaal is providing you with a free ticket out of Federation space until things blow over.
You succeeded in earning some cash.
You succeeded in finding a patron and securing continuing employment via a patron.
As a result... each of you score 10 character points. Use them well. (Think big if you want. Some crazy giant advantage with several limitations could be introduced if you're into psi powers or other strangeness-- if it fits the theme/plot.)
[As to what you *didn't* succeed in doing... that's a secret known only to me...! Bwa-hah-hah!]
Congrats to all and thank you for the great gaming.

I liked it. You got my email? This thing doesn't seem to send me emails when I lag off of here fora while. Make sure you shout at me or something.
As for the deal... works for me. I didn't want to go against the deal, nor extort more money, but a bonus he offers wouldn't be turned down.
As for the girl... I'll need to know what's going to be done with her. Not so much that I care per se, but that I really expect her to try to hunt us down later. It's just too convenient of a GM plot...
(Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean I 'm wrong, either.) After the reassurances, and all, it's not really going to matter much, I just realized. No matter what, either he's going to let her live, or kill her. If she escapes, he doesn't even need to be complicit with the horrible GM... And if she's going to escape to haunt us later, I'm sure it'll be before she's killed anyhow. (Although that would be an interesting spin on ST, haunted heros...)
BTW< 'horrible GM' is a term of endearment, if you made it tough enough on us to be fun, that's a good thing. I liked it, and I wouldn't be calling you names if I didn't, I'd politely say thank you and goodbyw. Speaking of which, thank you. And, er, I guess ttfn instead of goodbye.

Was that $15000 each or $15000 total?Jeffr0 wrote:(Rotate identities... again...?)
