I'm going to concede this game.
The breakpoint I just recieved is the first time I've actually sat down and looked at what I'm facing properly (not being too familiar with frax subs) and what I need to do. Hence I've only just spotted that I'm taking on a ship that, under the frigate war rules, is already winning by the point difference and can remain cloaked for the time limit, whilst shooting/launching at me.
Whilst it is still possible I can win, I need to score at least 1 burthrough whilst not taking any damage/burnthrough myself. My TRLs can just do a burnthrough every other turn (so 3 chances in total at a burnthrough) but with a small chance of success against a cloak,, but only the one on turn 6 will count as earlier ones will be repaired. and that multiplied by the chance of hitting a system that DC 2 can't repair makes it an even lower chance of my scoring any points.
I can see some of the other ships beating the sub without so much problem, but the cobra trades some firepower for andro panels/batteries which makes this a tedious and (given the time limit) bad matchup for it.
It's the sort of thing I'd play out face to face, as it would probably only take an hour and we could yabber whilst playing. I don't mind the matchup, that's just the way the cookie crumbles. But it's not the sort of game I want to play by PBEM for the next how ever many weeks waiting to get to turn 6 when the game will be decided by who gets a burnthrough.
