Texmex: Planet of the Cows
The planet that became known as Texmex was a semiarid (Class-L) planet located in the disputed region between the Kzintis and Federation. The Kzintis regarded the planet as something of a resort because of the vast herds of herbivores of several species, ranging from the equivalent of rabbits to the equivalent of elephants. There were the equivalent of caribou in the arctic tundras, wild boar in the scant forests, deer on the higher plains, cows on the lower plains, and hippos in the swamps.

Why do the "windows"/"portholes" on the Romulan WB/WE look like giant rivets or protrude outwards?

Want to know what's in CL43 and how close it's getting to publication?

http://www.starfleetgames.com/discus/me ... POST611588

That link to the discus BBS is where I post a daily PDF showing what articles have been selected, and where they are in the process of being researched, written, edited, formatted, and proofread.

As of last night at 8pm, we were 50% finished, and had completed about 16% of the book in the previous 48 hours. I figure we'll wind up by the end of next week, but that doesn't mean it gets printed then. It gets printed (in the final analysis) when it fits a number of schedules. (We have to print the cover in batches with other covers, and those other covers aren't ready yet. That's just one thing. There are others, including Origins, paper deliveries, production time, when Jean can proofread things and how fast she can proofread things, and so forth. I may also want to hold it up a few days to mess with some of the marketing elements.)

One Romulan ship that has never been seen in any SFU product is the ship that has the rivet gun to put those rivets in all the other Romulan ships. If it ever was forced into battle, it would be a terror to any other ships at a range of 0. Its rivet gun would tear through all non-armored ship hulls like a hot knife through warm butter. The rivet ship would be like a monitor and have to be towed into tactical range.

Today's Teaser

A Measure of Fear
by John Sickels

Imperial Senate Chamber, Capitalus Romulus, 4 July, Y154

Brellus Urbanus Antreidies was the longest-serving senator in the chamber, selected by his House some 75 years earlier, during the reign of Emperor Ramillius. One does not navigate the dangers of Romulan politics for so long without great skill. Indeed, while Brellus was not especially prideful about most things, he took satisfaction in his political acumen and his ability to judge people and situations.

Today's teaser

Empire of the Trefoil Thone: Based on Empire of the Petal Throne, this version of Prime Directive seemed to work, as it was mostly about finding artifacts from a mysterious advanced civilization that came to the SFU through some kind of a rift. The problem was that the original game had been out of print for so long that nobody could find a copy of it for us to copy.
