Because the K4R is part of the whole "local defense" ships that are not in consideration. Actually, they aren't even really in consideration for Federation Commander in general, much less this module.pinecone wrote:In that case, why not fill that slot with the K4R? It is a totally different point range.
As for the K7R and Vulture having similar point values, they are still very different ships that fulfill different roles. So, they will be used in very different ways, even with the similar point values. I don't really see that as an issue.

Agreed. They are radically different ships.mjwest wrote:As for the K7R and Vulture having similar point values, they are still very different ships that fulfill different roles. The Vulture gives some oomph to a classic Romulan fleet while the K7R fills the true CA/CC role in the general war era.
It all boils down to cloaking:
Old Romulans "must cloak" to win (fragile ships with cheap cloaking cost).
Kestrels are "emergency cloak" for the most part (good ships but cloak cost is prohibitive for an attack run).
New Romulans are "cloaking optional" and can operate equally well in cloaking and non-cloaking situations.

Just a general question with everyone commenting on point holes in differen fleets. The Gorn BFF or is it FFB is not really a big enough step to justify it. Has ther even been a Proposal for a Heavy Gorn Battle Frigate? If so whats would its armament look like. I would guess it would be a Battle Frigate with a stretched front bubble and maybe 2 or 3 Plasma Fs as i can't see anyone shoe horning a G into that frame.

Looking over the list again, I have a few suggestions.
1) While I am not a big fan of the "fast cruisers", I do think it is important that this opportunity should be taken to introduce the "missing" ones.
2) To keep this product in line with other Attack products, I think that all of the "fast" ships included should be Booster-only ships. They should not be included in the main product. I mean, if the Feds, Klingons, Romulans, Kzintis, and Gorns only got their "fast" ships in Boosters, it would be beyond odd that lesser empires would get them in the main product. (Yes, this means if the Fed DDF is done, it should be in a Booster. Even if it is the only Fed ship.)
3) I also think that it is important to get in any missing police ships, too. Those are "historically" important ships with many uses, so it would make sense to include them.
Obviously, this only applies to certain empires, and not all empires.
Finally, this was just a thought I had. Steve could think it was terrible or good. I don't know.

Mjwest: sounds like a good idea to me.

Fast ships are popular with some players because of the large amount of power that they have. The reduced heavy weapons load is less of a problem because phasers are better in FC anyway. But historically not that important. So probably worth including in boosters as MJW proposes. Concur that missing police ships would be good, because as MJW points out they are historically important, and are useful for many small scenarios.

I'm not sure if Selts have a POL; pretty sure they never had one in this galaxy at any rate. Not sure with Vudar either, it would make some sense for them to have a police ship since they were presumably performing some police duties within their zone.
