Black Hole rules are in the Reference Rulebook (consider buying. The rules are updated, all the rules are in it, and its a great resource for online play. Its available as a PDF as well, here: http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB4020 ).

They also appear in Hydran Attack.

As for "Black Hole Mania," that is from an SFB scenario we converted to FC. Essentially, the map contains one black hole. Halfway through the turn another begins to form (so you can see where it will be), but does not become active until the next turn. Now there are two black holes, and then the next turn three black holes, then four, etc.

Also, the black holes cause madness in the crews of the ships. No ship can disengage until the other is dead.

You have to negotiate through the black holes. Interestingly, you can actually "swing" between black holes.

Lots of fun.

Yeah, you can't deploy one within the gravitational field of a black hole --

But, if one appears near a base, its positional stabilizers will prevent it from being sucked in; as demonstrated in the scenario Mis-Fire from Captain's Log #40.

you know.... send a large volley of drones (do a volleyh at end of impulse 8 and 1) and try to force the klingons to either take damage from them or force them to go closer into the black hole.

Just want to add in my 2 cents.

my battlegroup onced played a round where we fought inside a nebula with 3 black holes on the map.

It was crazy fun and I recomend trying it just for kicks as it makes the game quite scary as your ship gets pulled in 3 directions with random turns.

Out of 6 players only 1 made it off the field, my Kzinti CC succumbed to a black hole after my Klingon enemy used his last energy points to phaser me rather then escape...blasted Klinks! :D
