No Calendar This Year?

Booster Packs, Squadron Boxes, etc. (you get the idea) can be discussed here.

Just checking, I have promised to buy one for myself and one for my brother when they exist.

Jack, we had to take down the Cafe Press site when they were going to change our contract so that our art would be used in a way that would violate our license. Sorry. :(

Bummer on that. Though I thought I read that the whole thing wasn't the best for ADB in general.

We never made any money on it. Whatever sales there were barely paid the fees (if they paid them at all). We made about $3 on a $20 item, for example, and sold one or two items a month, and got charged more than that.

I couldn't find anything SFB on CafePress a while back, and, knowing how busy you were this summer and fall, I figured that even if given a printing deal you wouldn't have time for any graphic gymnastics necessary to ready the art for it. But I had to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Bummer.

Printing a real print run of calendars would cost more than printing a fed comm product (including the cover, counters, rulebook, three booster covers, and 32 cards). I have never been convinced that a calendar would sell in sufficient quantities to gamble the money. Remember that calendars only have about a 4 month window for sales, while a fed comm product will keep selling for at least six years (so far).

If somebody who has $10K laying around and thinks that this would be a swell idea, contact me. You can pay the printing bill and I'll send you 1/2 of whatever sales we make.

The world's ending next year anyway, it's not like you're going to need a calendar after the End of Days. :D

Yeah, that Mayan Calendar thing really sucks!
