Proximity Photons

I've been into FC for a year or so now, and am just now able to start acquiring background materials, namely old Captain's Logs (OK, not that old)
In CL38 there's a ship card for a Federation BCP Battlecruiser. It has firing charts printed on it -- Ph1, Ph3, and Photons. The Photon chart has a line for proximity photons. Am I right in guessing that was just a playtest experiment?[/i]

Those are Hybrid SSDs for use with SFB and FC ----

Well, that's what I get for ordering the SSDs and not the actual Captain's Log which no doubt would have explained all that to me. Thanks
