Split shields and transporters

Post by ncrcalamine »

2 ships are at range 2 with split shields . Ship 1 has shields 1 and 6 facing ship 2 which has shield 1 and 2 Facing ship 1.
Ship 1 fires at ship 2. ship two takes the shot on the number 2 shield. After all the firing is done, ship 1 has both facing shields 1 and 6 down. Because ship 1 has both facing shields down can ship 2 drop shield 1 to raid ship 1 or must it still drop shield 2 to raid ship 1 which it must do if only one shield was down.

Thanks

Having choosen to have your number 2 facing the enemy during offensive fire it is that shield facing the enemy for the remainder of the impulse for all purposes if I remember correctly. So if you want to transport aboard him it is through your number 2 and through his number 1. The fact that the other ship has a separate down shield is irrelevant, that shield is not facing you for the duration of the impulse.

Thats also means if you hadn't dropped his number 1 then you couldn't go through his number 6 instead.
