I was a fairly early casualty in death-of ADB bandwagon. In the mid 80's I was living in a smaller town than Amarillo (shhh! Abilene shhh!) Shops, what few there were, stopped carrying SFU stuff in favor of the new FASA stuff and there were rumors that ADB had been put out of business by Paramount. So we all switched over, had a few laughs, raised a glass in StarFleets's memory, graduated and got a life.
Years later I was thrilled to hear that ADB had survived and was thriving. Just the thing to make a guy feel like a kid again.
Damn, these dice are cold!

In that time period all my Commander's Editions stuff got boxed up and put into storage along with my FASA stuff and was a memory until quite a while later when I noticed a 'Captain's Edition' basic set in a store and realized it was actually new stock/new product.

It was also in that same time period that I was discovering the internet (it was pretty new-fangled back in the early 90's), there was no such thing yet as a 'web browser' but iD Software came out with this revolutionary new video game called 'Wolfenstien 3D' that took all my time.

Then came 'DooM' with its multi-play, and the LAN party was born. Instead of dragging boxes of maps, forms and counters around we drug PCs around, and eventually skipped that and used MODEMs instead to connect directly with each other via phone lines.

So, yea PC/online gaming was where my gaming interests were in that time frame, also had a new baby, so there really was not a lot of time to be heading out for games, had to be online or nothing.
If you are local to the Kitsap, Jefferson, Peirce, Thurston or Mason County area in Western, WA state, feel free to PM me about getting a SFB/FC group going.
