Anyone know the status of the Patrick Doyle vs M1A1DAT game?

I will be doing the pairups for Round 2 this Wednesday the 29th.

We have started our game and got 2 turns in and will be completeing it soon. It will likely only go 1 or 2 more turns. We are having some trouble coordinating times, but we will work something out. We had some problems getting it started and then realized it was because we had different versions of the game. Patrick seems to have a couple of problems getting the plasmas to work correctly in the client, but managed to find some work arounds.

Patrick and I were going to finish our game tonight, but he got sick and we had to postpone. Hopefully we will finish it up within a few days.

you know, Lee, if there was one fleet I thought your force was hopeless against, it was the Kzinti. You mind giving a bit of a game recount?

I didn't expect to do as well as I did against Kzinti, it was on the face of it a bad match up for me.

The following is as best I remember, I'm bit hazy on the detail.

Turn 1 saw the Kzinti come at me fast, I made like mouse before a pride of lions and ran away. I ended up right on my map edge not far from the corner. I launched drones on impulse 8 to avoid the kzinti using his drones against them, they launched their drones against me. One of my salvage ships took a bit of a pasting to a shield, my return fire was effectively non-existant.

Turn 2 we both went fast, I immediatley HET'd back to escape the corner and get out of the kzinti front arc, he didn't HET, I assume due to 22 drones heading at him at fairly short range.

After that the game was largely mine, My ships dropped in behind him with my drones. I delivered some damage through the Kzinti rear shields, he had almost as much firepower coming back at me though. He used his drones to take out mine, but I just replaced them. With 2 dozen drones always not far behind him he was somewhat limited in his options.

Turn 3 or 4? we had chased across the map into the other corner where the Kzinti used a HET to attack me and get out of the corner trap, but was unable to deliver much damage (I managed a split shield, and he didn't have the power for overloads). A few impulses later his ships were eating drones by the dozen. I tractored a couple of ships just to make sure.

The game was called with 2 BCs dead, the NCC was just a couple of bridge boxes and a little warp. I had some shield damage and about half a dozen internals.

The more I look at it the more I think Patricks Gorn are going to splatter me across the the 4 corners of the map. My ships look mighty puny next to that DNH.

Let me give you my recollection of our fight. All I remember is being taken across a knee and spanked like a baby.
