Would print-on-demand be an option for expansions of this product?

If you follow my blog you know I have been looking into that for some time now.

Probably would have happened except that IF tribble shappens, we could print a huge sheet of cards tht cover tribbles and the SFBF expansions.

Would using a crowd-sourcing site like Kickstarter be an option to generate the capital for an expansion? That way you can see how many people want to purchase the expansions directly (by having a certain price point reward be a copy of the expansion), and maintain the original game's print quality.
