Marcus is now alone in the operating room. There are two operating tables and a few chairs. There is also a closet of medical supplies.
Marcus is in a small waiting area with a trivideo player.

While he waits around, a Lyran is brought in on a stretcher and the doctor goes to work removing some sort of lead slug from his side. "Utterly barbaric!" he exclaims to no one in particular.

boing-boing boing-boing...

A human female nurse comes in and checks the vital signs on Marcus's "employer."
The human doctor's communicator goes off. He answers it.

"Yeah...? Oh... okay. Thanks for the heads up, man."

He then nods to the nurse, and they leave abruptly. The Lyran is still on the operating table with his wound wide open.

The man seems vaguely disappointed.

He turns and leaves.

[GM Note: Skexis and Captain Jack are on Pause Mode until Marcus resolves his scene; so sorry!]

Three hooded human men wearing robes enter the emergency room area where Marcus and his "employer" is.

They walk over to the hospital bed where Marcus's "employer" is.

Given the way they entered the room, they didn't see Marcus. Their backs are currently facing Marcus.

[GM to Marcus: your move.]

They turn with annoyance... but if they thought to maybe jump you then and there, they think better of it.

Catching a good look at your phaser, they reflexively (and slowly) raise their arms.

The middle guy seems to be the one in charge. "Oh, uh... we didn't see you when we came in. Look, we don't mean any trouble. We just came by to visit our good friend here...."

[GM mulls over the situation and makes a ruling. A single successful intimidation check will normally stop/slow/avoid violence... but a second is required to change the status quo beyond that. Failure on the second means you pushed your luck too far and they attack. If they have a better margin, they argue or resist. GM rolls the dice. Okay... natural critical success for Marcus. The dice have spoken!]

The men begin filing toward the exit. The leader seems to be weighing whether or not to make a parting verbal shot or threat, but he is speechless at the moment.

The men are gone.

boing-boing boing-boing...

[GM Note: Skexis and Captain Jack are now "unfrozen". You may coordinate your next move with Marcus if you wish. You know that Muankaal will be wheeling and dealing for another day or two and then will be heading out.]

The men pick up their pace until they are well beyond 50 meters away and then disappear around the corner.

The doctor and nurse get back to work. (Marcus is clearly at large and in charge.)

You have resolved the current adventure arc with the exception of two things-- you'll get to talk to Marcus's employer when/if he revives... and then you have to board Muankaal's E3 Corvette to go to the next world. You could conceivably do anything else you like while you're here-- and you're free to pursue your own goals instead of just responding to what you think I might want you to do-- but that's the main thing.

We will fast forward to those two scenes-- (1) the revival and then (2) the blast off-- but you all can have input on how you want to handle things first. I will pause the game until I get feedback from everyone. Skexis, Captain Jack, and Marcus can assume that everyone is up to speed on each others' experiences.

Time for Captain Jack to split up the credits, get a drink and a quick meal, and head back to the E3 before something bad happens....

Skexis looks around for a dealer who sells things in the vein of the dagger, someone who could know something about it.

Marcus will call his 2 companions and fill them on what has transpired in the medical facility. He will suggest they wait until this employeer is mobile, bring him to Muankaal's ship to debrief him and perhaps offer him a ride off world to escapr from his would be assailants.

Captain Jack reminds Marcus that these things tend to happen all the time at places like this, and one must be cautious who one takes along off a rock like this...
