Tenneshington Decals - Freighters

Post by Scoutdad »

We posted a couple of photos on the Tenneshington Decals Facbook page of some Starline 2400 small freighters with our prototype decals applied. This generated a moderate amount of comments and got us thinking about the next step.

We will eventually be producing decals for freighters: small, large, jumbo, heavy, Starline 2400, and Starline 2500.

What images / accessories would you like to see made available?
Remember no trade-marked / copyrighted names or brandings will be allowed.

[Edit] to keep track of the really good ones:
  • Pavlov's Subspace Communications
    Heisenberg Express
    Schroedinger Transportation
    Amarillo Design Bureau
    Federation Express
    Fed-Up
    Pan-Galatic Movers
    The Tele-Rite Stuff
    Andorian Gray
    Cross-Bohn's Shipping
    ACME
    Flying Mountain Asteroid Mining

Pan-Am is copyrighted. The airline may be gone, but the IP is owned by a holding company (note the recent tv-series, etc.).

I've already said. "NO COPYRIGHTER" names.
That means no Fed Ex
No UPS
No Exxon
No TWA
No Pan-Am
Unless you can get me a letter, on company letterhead - signed by the CEO / COO of an existig company - then no existing companies.

I was hoping for someone to come up with some great "new" compnaies and possibly a description of the livery/logo.

you know...
Pavlov's Subspace Communications
"Our name rings your bell"

Heisenberg Express
We're uncertain when it'll arrive...

Schroedinger Transportation
It may get there, or it may not.

Amarillo Design Bureau
Purveyors of historical games since 1977!

Or suggestions such as:
Portholes and cabin berths to make Starliners...
Shuttle hatches and landing lights.
Bridge windows / view ports.
Drone hatches... etc.

I wonder if "Fastway" got copyrighted. (A model company got permission to do the Disneyland Spaceliner, but not the sponsor's logo, so they created one of their own. If the modeler found the decal too big, he could, say, trim a letter or three off the sides.)

The Galactic Milk Run -- "To and Fro Very Slow"

The Tele-Rite Stuff

Andorian Gray -- "What can Gray do for you today?"

Alpha Mail

Too bad I realized my own name, Cross-Bohn's Shipping, would be the worst disguise EVAR for an Orion pirate gang.

Does the SFU already have an Orion Express? (And has there ever been a Murder on it?)

Actually, I like this one. Would you object to us using it (or a similar variation) as livery for a 23rd century company?

Trying to think of a few for you, but first a question. Are there any mentioned in Prime Directive in the background fluff?

Some great livery ideas there and good food for thought as we start prepping the Starline 2400 decals.

I'll note that we can't use "CARGOS R US". It's cute, but Toys 'R Us has a trademark for all use of "'R Us", which they enforce strongly. If you ever see a business named "Something Plus", it's because they got a nice contact from Toy 'R Us' legal folks and were told to cease using the 'R Us naming ("Plus" is Toy 'R Us' suggested replacement, sounds similar and signage, etc. can be changed cheaper due to the similar character length).

We will indeed be doing markings for starbases, etc..

When we get our line of decals for Starline 2400 up and running, it will eventually have markings for all miniatures in that line (including the various bases; Federation first and, if they sell, the other empires following that).

For the Starline 2500 battlestation and mobile base, we would like to do decals for them. Those miniatures aren't shipping yet, so it will be quite some time still.
