Yes and no. Yes, it becomes more overt due to the "once per volley" damage points. However, not really because you still only get to fire once every four SFB impulses, meaning the target has a much, much better chance of turning a new shield.

So, yes, the concept is still there, but the intrinsic design of the FC's limited opportunities of fire will heavily mitigate that effect.

Thank you, yes, I forgot about that.

On the other hand, in FC each ship firing into a shield would generate an unique volley so that would add weight to the Mizia effect wouldn't it?

But you're right of course, it wouldn't be so easy to control the effect. But it would be fun!

Had an idea, for SFB, to develop a cone.
When damage penetrates the shield, lay the cone on the SSD,
start blacking out squares (at entry point) till you reached the number of hits.
That would create a damage pattern and not have to use the charts.

So, depending on the direction the fire came from and the layout of the ship diagram, entire systems could be wiped out. Hmmm...

By the way, I was up in the Blowing Rock/Boone area last week. Just beautiful!

If you have ever seen Centurion: Renegade Legion, each weapon/shell type has a different damage pattern.
Yes, you could lose a whole section of starship. Just wasn't playing enough with the same players to take a close look at how it would affect the game.
