using SFB counters with FC

Post by rdw5150 »

Hello!

New to FC. I have a ton of SFB stuff but no one to game with. Bought Federation Commander stuff.

My question is, can I use SFB counters with FC rules and such (just buying the ship forms from the online store)?

They look as if I can use them.

Thanks

Peace

Of course. Just so long as your opponent isn't a dork about it.
Fed Com counters do look prettier though (think SFB are just black silhouettes but could be wrong)

thanks Paul....... I just have a ton of SF stuff and would prefer just to buy the PDF ship forms and use old counters instead of buying new.

Peace

That's exactly what I did for a long time. I bought the Federation Commander rules and used all my old SFB stuff to play and teach others how to play. I finally bought a set of the mapboards, the megahex product, and the Orion Pirates product. Megahex is nice with the 1" counters.

Lots of ships available via Communique.

Yup. The 1" Megahex counters are very spiffy (and minis are even better), but FedCom is totally playable on the traditional SFB half-inch hex and is designed to do so (FC products include counters in both sizes, and the map boards have both size hexes, one on each side).
