I toyed with it briefly, but my inexperience with Roll 20 meant I couldn't get a handle on it. I imaging it'd work quite well for managing ship/seeker/shuttle movements and orientation.

I don't think I've ever heard of "Roll 20" before. Care to educate me, please? Thanks!!

It is a Dice rolling website and app Garth basically a random number generator. And no when I play I prefer old skhool rolling.

Calling it a dice rolling app is a gross oversimplification. It's more of an online tabletop where multiple players can get together and run pretty much any game the host sets the parameters for. It's a modern web app as well, meaning that it's fully cross platform and runs in a browser.

Here's a brief tutorial on its capabilities from 2 years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nHsiT5AEV4

It's super popular with the D&D/Pathfinder crowds these days.

After playing around with it, Roll20 definitely works for grid and movement and makes it really easy to track your ship/projectile tokens with color shading. I don't see any solution to playing online with it with ship cards, but I think it might give it a try as a virtual tabletop next time I play at home with a friend rather than needing a large table, rearranging the panels around, and trying to both not bump the ship counters and keep the cats away.
