Is Jean Sexton also updating the weapons and gear as well?

Anything that seems to be a problem (and the weapons do seem to have issues) is up for editing.

I think the gear weren't upgraded to match GURPS 4e. Tech Levels were changed and the 3e rule allowing for improving beam weapons and armor was done away.

Anyway, I offer my services as a GURPS head if you need me. If not, I will be cheering from the sidelines.

I agree. I think they should change the armor divisor and disintegration setting on the Phaser 2 to ∞ and cor respectively.

GURPS Ultra Tech p 133 has cinematic options for beam weapons. Using one or more could fix the phasers.

I told Jean she needed to set aside revisions of existing books and get new RPG systems done, but she made the case (the cherry pie helped me accept it) that she could not tell someone to "convert this to your system" if "this" was a botched GURPS chart. So I said she could go ahead and fix GURPS.
