If this game is good enough to get revisions, how come there are absolutely no resources online to teach newcomers how to play ANY version of Starmada? No YouTube videos, no Board Game Geek posts, nothing!
How am I suppose to know if I should invest in miniatures and books, when even the Internet implies that it's a very dead game?

Why no YouTube videos? The short answer is that there's never been a call for such things. I suppose one could be put together if enough people thought it would be worthwhile.
As far as learning how to play, a demo version of the rulebook can be found at the Majestic Twelve Games web site:

Also, BoardGameGeek does have several reviews. These are for the Admiralty Edition, which is pretty close to what you'll get in the newest release.

I can understand the whole no call for any tutorial videos, but it still surprises me that no one in your community would want to make one just for fun at least. Usually you can find a good number of videos by various people for anything. But nothing for this game? Even "The Dice Tower", who review tabletop games, lack a video for it.mj12games wrote:Why no YouTube videos? The short answer is that there's never been a call for such things. Wait, I stand corrected, this is the ONLY video for your game I found on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdMVPUt3p3g, and it's 6 years old. It also doesn't really tell me what's going on.
