It confuses everyone that the two "phaser bumps" Franz put on the front/top of the saucer were actually "two photon banks" of two tubes each and every on screen shot has the photons under the saucer.

But Will did EXACTLY what Franz drew and that was the whole point. Well done, Will.

Thanks.

As a kid who spent many, many hours staring at the drawing in Franz Joseph's book (and was inspired into a career in drafting and then technical design because of it), doing all the Franz Joseph designs as real physical products has been both a privilege and a responsibility to get them right to his drawings. The games have certainly evolved away from them in many cases, but the originals are as he drew them.

A "ship" for today is the tree of skiffs and modular courier, used by all empires. These went on-sale on March 1st too.

Miniatures for these tiny ships are something I had wanted for my own game sessions for a very long time. Security skiffs are fantastic "use those last few points" filler ships for points-based pick up battles. I'd much rather have a ship (even a teeny, tiny, "blows up if you sneeze on it hard" ship) than just wasted points that get adjusted out of the victory points - I'd rather see them used (and blown up).

A ship for today is one I'd long wanted to take my own crack at, the Federation Nimitz-class CVS strike carrier. ADB had very specific things they wanted from this model and I'm pretty happy with how I could make it hit all the (sometimes competing) criteria and still keep the Matt Jefferies "original series" look.

Ship for today is the Federation DNG guided weapons dreadnought, the standard Fed dreadnought during the General War, the refit that finally made the Federation-class competitive with the DNs of other empires.

It's been a while since I posted one of these.

This is the Romulan KC9R Behemoth (a Klingon C-9 dreadnought, in Romulan service).

Federation CVA heavy carrier (the current Captain's Edition version SFB, not the 2-engine "flatbed" from Designer's and Commander's Edition).

It's been a while again.

Here's the classic base station mini (originally sold in Starline 2200 as a lead 3-piece mini, and as the "battlestation"), now sold on Shapeways as the Federation base station.
