Federation Commander News is now for moderators only?

When I try to check the "Federation Commander News" section, I get the following message:

"Sorry, but only moderators can read topics in this forum."

Surely this is an error, right? I know I used to be able to view this part of the forum.

We have been having daily spam attacks on the forum and the mods are trying various ways to thwart them. I am sure things will calm down. The BBS is under attack every hour.

Spamming sucks, but is there any way you could still let everyone view the forum and only restrict the posting there to moderators?

Unless, of course, that's where our dedicated, super-secret think tank of anti-spammers is plotting the grand defense.
