I will try and list edit suggestion under the headings i find them in...
WHAT IS PRIME DIRECTIVE?
Please add (SFB) after the first typing of Star Fleet Battles.. It will help new people get used to knowing what SFB means. Especially since you are doing it for MGP & MGT... Example below....
""Available for several RPG systems, it is based on the history and background seen in the classic board game Star Fleet Battles(SFB) from the same publisher. SFB is a ship-to-ship combat board game, based on elements of the original Star Trek television series.""
WELCOME TO TRAVELLER PRIME DIRECIVE
This sentence does not flow correctly...
""The GM is of course free to choose using what rules from both books they wish to use in their game.""
Suggested version
The GM is of course free to choose which rules from both books they wish to use in their game.
The Star Fleet Universe
Why is this topic not in all capitals like the others.?
A NOTE ABOUT PRIME DIRECTIVE
I'm worried that the statement below may hurt sales, since you are telling everyone that GURPS is what you use to convert to MGT2. This could encourage them to just convert on the stuff on there own and not buy future books..
""The GURPS 4th ed Prime Directive is the definition that all other settings will work from here on out. Traveller Prime Directive is the first version of Prime Directive derived from the GURPS edition.""

This sentence makes no sense as written:
At times the nature of the SFU will require play in the SFU require changes to how MGT works and the rules presented in this book override those in the core rule book.
Try:
At times the nature of the SFU will require changes to how MGT works and the rules presented in this book override those in the core rule book.
Also, I agree with everything that LimeyDragon states above.

This morning I finished updating CH 01 (Intro) based on the 2022 book.
It is now in the hands of Editor/Proofreading Jean, and then through SVC. Once they have given their "okee dokee" I'll be sending it to y'all
Now on to CH 02 (Char Gen) and CH 03 (Skills). They kind of go together.

Re: this text in chapter 1:
"Traveller Prime Directive (TPD) requires the MGT
Core Rulebook (TCR) to play, and those core rules will
not be repeated here. At times the nature of the SFU
will require changes to how MGT works and the rules
presented in this book override those in the core rule
book. The GM is of course free to choose using which
rules from both books they wish to use in their game."
I thought the new direction, given the new 2022 version of the MgT rules, was to reproduce the necessary rules in the TPD book?

The below section on page 1 mentions Prime teams but i can't seem to find where it explains what a Prime team really is. I know it sound silly, but older version detail this. It also leads into why the game is called Prime Directive originally.
Special Assignment: A Ready for Anything Prime Team. You are all members of a military unit (Star Fleet, Klingon Empire, etc.). Typically, veterans of similar careers, participating in wars, skirmishes and other military activities handling those missions which need that

Good catch.. Here is what I've added under "The Star Fleet Universe".
The SFU is a "game universe" where the readers can make their own history. That said, a great deal of effort has been made over the years to ensure is considerably more consistent (within itself) than the purely literary universe of true Star Trek.
The original roleplaying game for the SFU was called "Prime Directive", referred to now as PD1. The focus was on the small squad special forces teams in the Federation, called "Prime Teams." When the GURPS 3rd ed edition of roleplaying in the SFU was created, the scope was expanded to the entire SFU and renamed Prime Directive.

Just my 2 cents:Available for several RPG systems, it is based on the history and background seen in the classic board game Star Fleet Battles (SFB) from the same publisher. SFB is a ship-to-ship combat board game, based on elements of the original Star Trek television series.
Available for several RPG systems, PD is a setting based on the history and background presented in the Star Fleet Battles (SFB) setting from the same publisher. SFB is a ship-to-ship starship combat table top game based on the elements of the original Star Trek television series.
Under "The STAR FLEET UNIVERSE" section
The Star Fleet Universe is the history and background...
I would suggest.
The Star Fleet Universe has been built and evolved from the background material generated over.....
A NOTE ABOUT PRIME DIRECTIVE
You might start out with "As mentioned above, Prime Directive is the..." to connect that section with similar presentation in the sections above.
