Star Fleet Battles Captain's Yeoman, Captain's Module A+

Post by David »

Curious why this is no longer available? I've found it to be very useful with the cards as well as the turn/slip counters. Very nice module.

We ran out of one component (counters) and are waiting for reprint stock. Problem is, that item has to be printed with parts of several other products, some reprints and some new, and not all of them are ready for press. It's a useful but minor product and can afford to be out of print for a while. Some parts (the cards) are still available as spare parts. We may even change the product definition, lower the price, and sell it without counters for an interim period.

Thank you for the reply.

Our group very much liked the Point of Turn and Point of Slip counters. Quite useful. We started using the Impulse Cards at our last group game and it seemed to really speed up that portion of the game. I particularly like the section that tells you the next impulse of movement for a specific speed. We're going to try out some of the game aids with the seeking weapons and shuttles next group game, which is tomorrow evening and an even bigger 'Wingman' game on Saturday.

Well done on this product. :D

We (local SFB group) love this product.

The faction-specific point of turn/slip counters are heavily used. And we exclusively use the Impulse Cards for calling out movement.

I particularly like the "Start of Turn" list of ordered activities and the impulse breakdown cards.

This product has helped me shepherd many new players into SFB. Look forward to giving it out as gifts once it's back in print. :D

Any revised ETA on this module being available again?

Nothing in the visible future. I do not know when the next countersheet run is. I do know this one was not selected for the last run as it was not deemed to have enough sales.

Hi Steve,

I apologize if this question has been asked a million times. Have you considered making the counters available as a high-quality image on one of the e-book sites, so we can print our own? At least then it would be possible to create a complete "Module A+" buy making the counters yourself, and buying the other parts on the ADB web site.

My mom has a Cricut Maker, and I think it would work great for cutting out the counters from chipboard. Just need to print them on glossy paper, and glue that to the chipboard.

I know this module isn't profitable on its own, but there is something to be said for having a complete product line available -- somewhere. Right now, the only place I can find this module is a $65 ebay listing. It seems like a useful module for new players; there may be some halo effect on the buy rates for other products.

We do sell all the components of Module A (except the countersheet) as "spare parts."

Hi Jean,

If and when there is another printing of the countersheets, will those also be available to purchase separately?

I may have the counters mixed with what I have left of my collection,
if someone has pic of the sheet, I will dig them out and let them go....

So far the sets I have sorted out were complete, so expect these would be also, if I do have them in the mix....

Why don't you put it up on ebay? I hear the going rate is $60 + shipping. So undercut that, and you're golden. 8)

Here's an image of the countersheet, although it seems there are three different versions that differ by color:

And there was a "deluxe" version that came with all three countersheets.

I will make a note to discuss that with Jean. I am also seeking a source for short runs of 1/2 inch counters.

Note that because of my medical mess (severe pain in knee perhaps caused by spinal damage or maybe something else) and Jean's husband recovering from surgery we have difficulty meeting as we're not in the office simultaneously very often. I will, however, do what I can when I can.

I did find the counters, print them out for her to look at, and put a memo on her desk for us to chat about this whenever we're both here.

However, this is not the only thing we need to chat about.
