Where to find QE and JF

Post by Valpurgius »

So I have been digging around for a while and have been unsuccessful in finding these two ships. Where in the SFB releases can I find the rules references and SSDs for the Queen Eagle and the basic Jumbo Freighter? I have found descriptions for the QE all over the place as well as the FC version, but cannot find an official SFB version anywhere. Same for the Jumbo Freighter.

If you mean the Queen War Eagle, then you'll find it in Module R4J. That module covers "what would happen if the Romulans got warp in the Early Years?" In the MSC for R4J, it also lists where to find the ships that have already been published somewhere.

If you want the utility Queen Eagles, then you want CL 39. That's where they were first introduced.

Queen War Eagle is what I was looking for. Thank you.

What about the Jumbo Freighter?

The Jumbo Freighter and its main auxiliaries were all published in Captain's Log 44.

I see all the various Auxiliary configurations of the Jumbo in CL #44, and the Ore Carrier, but not the base model.

The Ore carrier is the base model.

That doesn't really match up well. the FC version costs 4 points more and has:
1 more bridge
1 more emer
1 more trac
1 more tran
1 more shtl
1 more btty
1 more shield on each facing

1 less aux
1 less apr

But I am guessing this was done so that it halved well when converted to fleet scale. Going back over the SSDs its the exact same thing that was done with the large freighter, only this went up by 4 pts whereas thre FL went down by a point.

Yeah, Federation Commander freighters are a bit wonky. Your guess as to why they are that way is correct.

But, for the most part, it doesn't matter too much because they are basically there to be targets, victims, or annoying things to escort.

I also have to admit that I wasn't sure about the answer to your question at first. However, after reading the description I realized that the Ore Carrier was indeed the base version of the ship. It is a bit confusing, though, I will admit.

So another ship is eluding my best attempts to find its SFB origin. This time it is the Seltorian Light Battleship. I have found the FC and Starmada versions, but nothing SFB wise.

There are a couple of odd ships that are in Federation Commander and not yet officially published in SFB. Just timing on when certain products hit the schedule.

And for the record KA and ACTASF both try to use FedCom cards as their conversion bases when possible.

Not sure where else to throw this tidbit out there but the FC Romulan Turkey link in Hailing Frequency extras links to the SFB version not the FC version.

Ran across this when updating my spreadsheet of FC ships. Its up to 825 entries now and I think its about complete. Still missing a few products so I can't complete the cost cross reference and correction portion.
