Great work, Optimus. Now you need a fleet picture of all your Fed ships together.

Thanks. And that's coming. I just want to get a few more ships finished first.

I can't wait to see your Lyran article. I'm not very familiar with those cats, and your ships are making them hard to resist. And then there are the methane-breathers too...so many ships, so little time.

I'm also very excited to see your Orions. It's always interesting how people want to approach them, since there's no "official" scheme.

Every month, we do the newsletter, and every month, Matt asks me for a photo to use for "mini of the month" and every month, I have to go hunting for something. If anybody wants his work to be showcased as mini of the month, then send me a jpg that is....

72 dpi

3.5 inches wide and no more than 3.5 inches tall.

has the ship pretty much filling up the space, not a tiny figure swimming in a vast background.

You don't get anything but honor and glory, and no ship which has previously won a contest can be used.

OGOPTIMUS great work!!

My favorite it the USS Los Angeles. It looks crisp and clean. Well they all do as a matter of fact. How do you paint your engine caps? Do you higlight them or do you paint stripes? I think you do stripes, but I am not certain. They look very realistic.

I agree with Scoutdad, I would love to see a pictrure of all of them togeter.

Scoutdad, I would love to see a pictue of all of your fleets laid out. Could you give us a breakdown of what fleets you have for the different empires. I gather you have a fleet for each Lyran clan, but what about for each of the Federation fleets? I do believe that oneday you will have to play F&E with your minis. It is your destiny.

I've tried, but I can't get the co-operation of the DoD. Their spy sateliites are the only things that have the focal length to capture the entire collection in a single frame -

Until they're willing to let me know when they'll pass overhead so I can spend a day laying out the entire collection, y'all will just have to settle for seeing it in bits and pieces.

Or wait for the photos of the first ever Federatio nand Empire minis game!

"Realistic". Strange word isn't it? :D

But to answer your question, yes they are stripes. I paint the cap orange and then do stripes to the middle in red. I took the technique from another former member of the SFB community. Some days it just gets annoying (read: when I'm painting frigates) and I long for ships like the Early Years Cruiser USS Oriskany (all deep red) or any "hot warp" engine ship that just gets painted two layers of blue.

Can' t wait to see them Maxtype. Maybe you can give us some pictures before you put the decals on for a sneak peak?

Scoutdad, where is your Lyran paint guide? I looked for it today and could not find it. Maybe you did not get a chance to post it yet? Looking forward to seeing it.

It was submitted to ADB late last week. Unfortunately, due to SVC's current TO DO list and an upcoming trade show, he will not have time to format / post it until after April 28th.

But this allows for anticipation to slowly build until; finally - you get to read it.

And then, everyone will be able to paint Lyrans the same way I do and mine won't be special anymore -
Oh the sacrifices we are called upon to make...

Forewarning to all Hydran players!

Scoutdad has hatched a devious plan to confuse you with clones of his Lyran fleet.
