Damage to bases

Post by Dan Ibekwe »

I played a solo game today, with a Paladin and a pair of Mongols attacking a Klingon BATS supported by an F5 (I know, not remotely balanced - it was part of a wider campaign).

I'm not too clear on the SFB rules on damage to bases, so I decided that the base took 'Warp' and 'Impulse' hits on 'Reactor'.

Is this correct?

Another note - the Hydrans also had a suicide freighter. This was disabled very easily by the base's Ph-4s...one volley wiped out her engines and immobilised her 80,000km short of her target. So she diverted some fire from the warships, I suppose.

Can suicide freighters use Damage Control? I can't find anything to say they cannot, but it seems a bit odd in the absence of a crew.

Sadly, Yahwho? won't allow direct access to the photos..

Two of the bases' shields are down and all her weapons silenced. The boarding action commences:

Both "warp" and "impulse" hits are scored on "reactor" for bases.

I think a note in Communique may have accidentally only said "warp", but it is both.

Don't forget to check the Briefing #1 rules update when you are unsure.
