A rescue repaid.

Post by wedge_hammersteel »

I was messing around this weekend with some bits and pieces.

Here is the premise.

A Federation ship was patrolling the Romulan boarder when it was ambushed by a two larger Romulan ships. The Fed ship wasn’t running away from the fight but the outcome wasn’t looking good.

Luckily, a Gorn Frigate and a Destroyer happened by and joined the battle. The two Romulan ships turned tail and ran after a few exchanges but not before doing some damage to the warp drive of the Gorn Destroyer. After rescuing the Federation crew, the favor was returned; and the Gorn Frigate and Destroyer were able to make back to a Starbase.

I give you, "The Ged."

The Gorn miniature that I used was an older (1979) destroyer that was missing an engine. I had 2 extra Federation nacelles. I am not sure what Fed mini they came from as I have not seen a mini with that size of nacelle.

I think it turned out pretty good.

An interesting "kit-bash".

Those nacelles came from the old (SL2200, lead) Fed Light Cruiser.

Nicely done. Very interesting.

Nice backstory too. Gives it a bit of flavor.
