Question about Romulan Falcon

I am looking for a ship card for the Falcon.

The miniature is listed in the store.
http://store.starfleetstore.com/merchan ... ry_Code=RM

However, the most recent ship card list shows the Falcon as a Mauler in Communique 18 and the miniature for future release.

Is the current Falcon mini going to be bashed to a mauler design?

If yes, then I assume there is no ship card for the regular Falcon? It would make for a good Communique ship card.

Burt:
Not sure what your question is.

The Falcon is a mauler ship... in fact, it's the original mauler.
Much as with the WarBird/WarEagle... the ship is built around the weapon.
The batteries, power connections and mauler cannon are contined within the body o the vessel. That's why there's not the outward appearance of the mauler as with the D6M / Terminator conversion where the mauler weapon was retro fitted to an existing ship.

You answered my question. I thought the Falcon was a regular ship which was the reason for the current miniature. I didnt know it was initially built as a mauler. Thanks.

Still kinda hoping we will see a King Falcon Mauler someday. Basiclly apply to a Falcon what makes a King Eagle not a War Eagle. 2-15 Box Warp Engines with a Plasma F and a Phaser 3 each. Now that ship scares me more than any D6M ever could. The only thing more frieghtening is firing on a Terminator and not killing it....

Maybe the Falcon will go the way the Hydran Pegasus did and "find" some other versions to take advantage of the mini. The Peg was "the Hydrans oddball PF tender", until its origins in a different function were found.

It wouldn't be that hard to do a version of the Falcon without a mauler, so the mini could be used, but the trick would be to do something "creative" not just something between a war eagle and a battle hawk.

With all that reserve power the Falcon could be armed with a few tractor beams and be the strongest anchor in the Galaxy.

Or, if the Klingons could be persuaded to part with one, a Stasis Field Generator? (possibly easier to transfer a Falcon to the Klingons).

If you did a non-mauler Falcon, I would assume it would have the normal amount of batteries, not the mauler amount of batteries.

Oh. I thought the Falcon was built around the power system for the mauler.

Without all those batteries, you're going to have a lot of internal volume freed up.

Perhaps a fast transport, with customised assault ship or repair tender variants.

Or a MY Romulan attempt at a 'fast' - or at any rate, faster - cruiser: the empty volume remains empty, dropping move cost to 0.75, and the ship carries one Pl-G and six FA Ph-1s?

Trying to be creative...

How about making aCommando Cruiser variant for the Falcon?

Its pretty close in point value to the Klink Commando Cruiser. The battery bays would make nice barracks and cargo along with some extra shuttle bays and other missing systems. The power generation looks similar to the Klink Commando Cruiser too.

When Steve mentioned being "creative", I don't think he meant looking for a non-combat role. Rather, I think he was looking for a combat variant that didn't just look like a WE.

Hi,
This is in regard to F.C. I found the ship stats card for the Squadron version of the Falcon in Resources but I couldn't find a Fleet version of it. Does one exist and if so where would I find it?
Thanks

maybe give it three r type plasma launchers and heavy forward shields to use against hardened sites like Battle Stations.

I doubt that old hull could take the stress of more than one R-Torp.

Now replacing the R torp with 2 S-torps could be useful, especially if you used enveloping torps on a base.

Isn't there a Sparrowhawk variant that has 3 S torps for use against bases?

Wont work.
The SFU flavor text for this ship describes the R launcher as being so largethe ship was effectively built around it.
Even with standardized parts and miniaturization - you're not going to get three R launchers inside a hull that size.
