You gave me a reason to seriously consider going to Orgins or GenCon (and now I seriously regret not going to GenCon when I used to live in Wisconsin)
I never really considered going to such an event as a viable way to get my gaming fix, but it makes sense the way you explain it, that is people are there who actually, really want to play this stuff. No having to convince them thats its fun, they already know.

Speaking of vintage stuff..just unearthed my FASA Star Trek stuff, after it having been AWOL for over a decade. I thought it was long gone, but it was buried in a box in a back closet at my folks place. I had forgotten that I had bought every darn bit of FASA - Trek source material.
