Purchasing pdfs from e23

Post by Aabh »

Last night I bought a Lyran pack from e23 (because our Distant Kingdoms is in the mail still and we had a game set up for last night already), and I noticed a really cool thing about it. The pdf has high resolution counters in it. I've kinda thought it'd be cool to have my ship counters have their names on it, but when you scan the normal counters (Even the Megahex counters), the counters just do not blow up to anything reasonable (They are simply too low resolution).

I'd like to pick up the pdf with the Federation NCA, NCL and maybe the DDW (I've already purchased the booster pack, so I have the cards)... but I can't figure out which one that is... can someone point me in the right place?

Is there an equivalent to the Megahex module in pdf format?

I don't think those ships have been released in a Federation epack as of yet.

No, here is no megahex equivalent avilable in pdf format.

Ah... that's too bad. I understand, though :D

I don't know if there is a way to put in a request for that or not... we were talking about making "interim-miniatures" (At least until the 2500s are all out and we can buy them and paint them) which would be us printing out those ships with actual hull-names, posting them on cardboard so it wouldn't be so jarring when we only have one or two minis (At first) and the rest as black counters on a black map (I lost my NCA, like, three times in last nights game on the board... I'm old and blind :D).

Steve does a feature called "Customer Request Wednesday".

You send in an email request for an item / addition with Customer Request Wednesday in the subject line.
He then devotes an hour or so every Wednesday to fulfilling those requests.
Some will not be fulfilled because they are planned for a future release, some are not fulfilled because of the time required to complete, etc.
Some however are done every Wednesday. You may get lucky.

Until then, you can make proxies fairly easily.
Open up MS Paint.
Generate a series of 1x1 squares.
Fill them with the empires counter color (blue for Feds, Black for Klinks, red for Roms, etc.)
Select the text tool and choose a font color in the empires other counter color (White for Feds, White for Klinks, Black for Roms, etc) and type:
Ship Class
ID Number:
Ship Name:

Print, glue to a ceral box panel, cut out.
Presto!
Instant proxy counters.

Thanks! I'll do that! :)

As for the other proxies... that would work, indeed... but it would lack a certain... realism that way ;)

OK, I know I am being picky here, but technically, the Feds have a black font (they are black-on-blue). It is the Orions that have a white font (they are white-on-blue).

D'Oh!
Sww, that's what happens when three guys are in your office saying, "Let's go get pizza for lunch and I'm buying!" while you're typing a response.

But, the pizza was superb. And the price was right!
