Minis. What are you guys using? Preferable inexpensive but not mandatory.
I figure I am going to end up doing a fair number of SL2500 minis, so I had best get some storage figured out before I start buying fleet boxes.
I could use some inspiration on boxes to store/transport

For the SL2400 minis, quite a few folks (myself included) use cheap Plano type plastic cases, from WalMart, etc.. They're your basic "craft" boxes.
I haven't looked into sizing for the new, larger resin minis. The larger craft boxes will probably still work. Being able to pop the mini off it's stand is a huge benefit for this.

If money isn't a factor and you don't want to be cutting foam then KRMulticases might be a place to start looking ---
They do some specific ones, Wings of War being one, which would be similar size to SL2500 ---
Otherwise, larger fishing tackle boxes be a choice ---

Like Will, I use the plan old plastic tackle boxes...
[Q: What's the #1 way you know you spend too much time in the SFU?]
[A: You have more tackle boxes than Bill Dance... and you don't even fish!]
I get mine from the craft supplies section of Michael's and then go gt a piece of 1 inch thick poly-foam.
I have probably 20 to 24 of these thigs in teh game room, but here's the only one I have a photo of:

Thats the same Arco boxes I use for a lot of my stuff. you just have to take one of the dividers out for each ship to fit. A C9 and a Condor will fit in the bottom 2 outside sections in the above picture with no cutting of the box. Havent gotten my Fed DN assembled yet to see if it fits but my CC does with no problems.
If you're looking to travel with the figures, the Crystal Caste Battle Hive and Battle Hive II are anvil style cases that are rugged and substantial. They have "pick foam" layers for various figure sizes. I have one of each and use the Battle Have for transporting my 2400 series miniatures. They even went through TSA security without damage when going to Gen Con.
