Scratchbuilding help needed

I'm in a quandry and thought I'd turn to my hobby friends for help.
I find myself in need of some 1/8-inch, hexagonal stock.

Brass would be ideal, but I dont think anyone makes it.
Plastruct makes a 1/8-inch hexagonal rod, but my local hobby shop does not carry it, nor are they willing to order it.
I can order it from Plastruct - but they have a $20 minimum order plus $8 shipping. And I really don't need $20 worth of a 55 cent piece of plastic rod.

If anyone happens to run across a piece of this material in their local hobby shop and is willing to front a brother $0.55; I'll gladly pay a premium to have it dropped in an envelope and mailed to me.
