Aegis question

Post by cnuzzi »

The thread on voided cloaks reminded me of a question that I had wanted to ask...in FC is there any advantage provided by Aegis to the Aegis ship itself? I understand that in SFB the rules do allow an Aegis ship to better defend itself. I was wondering if perhaps i could adapt that to FC so I could use Aegis ships in duels occasionally.

Aegis in SFB allows a ship to better defend itself by giving it additional firing opportunities when defending against seeking weapons. Since the FC Defensive Fire Phase gives something like that already, it likely isn't really that necessary in FC. Also, you would have to break up the Defensive Fire Phase a lot to do something like SFB.

So, in FC, the way an escort ship better defends itself is pretty much with its different weapon selection.
