*NEW RANGER PROGRAM PREVIEW - REWARDS section*
Here is the new, improved *and* Approved rewards portion of the new Ranger Program. These will go into effect once I have gotten final approval by ADB on the full new handbook.
I know several times it says "credit may not be used for shapeways.com". SVC personally hand wrote it on the original proposal - in each of the places it appears. He just wants to ensure there is no confusion.
Thank you and I hope you like the new rewards (once they go live).

STARFLEET RANGER PROGRAM v2021
REWARDS
Demo: Teaching people a game to introduce them to the game.
Event: A scheduled place & time to hold a demo.
Ranger events are 3 to 4 hours long. Only One game (published by ADB) is presented and taught during a Ranger event. These are typically done using a minimum ruleset for the game being demoed.
Ranger rewards are issued as credit for product available from the ADB webstore, as well as any of our PDFs for sale via DrivethruRPG.com / Wargamevault.com NOTE: Credit may not be used for any items from Shapeways.com
WHAT GAMES QUALIFY TO BE DEMONSTRATED
- Star Fleet Battles
- Federation Commander
- Federation & Empire
- Star Fleet Battle Force
- Star Fleet Marines
- GURPS Prime Directive
- Starmada
- ACTASF
- Prime Directive d20 Modern
SETTING UP/REPORTING EVENTS
There are a few things a Ranger must do to receive rewards for an event:
- Properly submit the event to the Ranger HQ (and have it approved ahead of the event).
- Hold the event.
- Have new people attend the event.
- Properly report the event to Ranger HQ (including several pictures of the players enjoying your event).
REWARDS
The amount of credit for each event is the combination of two parts:
- The base rate based on the number of events the Ranger had the prior calendar quarter.
- A bonus based upon the rank of the Ranger's at the time of the event.
The base rate for all Rangers starts at $10 per event, with successive levels being $13 and $16 per event. Your base rate for a quarter is based on how many events you did in previous calendar quarters (quarters run Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec).
- Three credited events in the previous quarter will move you up one level for the current quarter.
- Less than three in the previous quarter you will remain the same.
- Two consecutive quarters with less than three events will drop you one level (ending at the minimal level).
Rank Bonuses are $1 for each level attained: Recruit $0, Warrant $1, Veteran $2, Senior $3, Master $4. Note these are not cumulative (so the bonus for a Veteran Ranger is $2 total, not $3).
USING CREDIT
Credit may be used on all ADB products, ordered through ADB. NOTE: Credit may not be used for any items from Shapeways.com
-- For physical products, half the order total may be paid for with ranger credit, the remaining half plus shipping must be paid by check or credit card.
-- For PDFs, ranger credit may be used for the full cost of ADB PDFs.
NOTE: Credit may not be used for any items from Shapeways.com

Yes. The regular d20 system ended up not being a good fit, hence the d20 Modern edition.LimeyDragon wrote:So only Prime Directive d20 Modern is valid and NOT Prime Directive d20.? Yes they are two different systems.
Regular d20 PD is still sold but nothing else will be coming out for it, and it is not eligible for credit as a demo event.

I would love to know which stores in what areas are carrying ADB products if we have that information. The two stores that I knew of in our area that carried product which one closed (complete and total mismanagement) and the other cleared out all Star Trek related items to make room for more WizKids items.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
Everything I learned in life I learned from Pipboy!
You can also find me on DAKKADAKKA.COM as Pipboy101. Soon to be posting battle reports for FC and SFM there.

That is a question only Leanna can answer. sales@starfleetgames.compipboy101 wrote:I would love to know which stores in what areas are carrying ADB products if we have that information.
I like the program as described.
It's clear, concise, and straight-forward.
Things in our area re just now ramping up and there is only one local convention scheduled in 2021 - and unfortunately, event sign-ups closed on 5/31.
We have 6 FLGS within a one hr drive, and so far - only one has reopened for instore gaming and they are limiting participation to the 1st 8 players to walk through the door (I hate our local mayoral politics, but hey...).
I doubt I will get much participation in quarter 3, but will try to get something going in Q4 - and will attempt to attend a few cons in 2022.
Thanks for so doing this, Al.
We do appreciate it.

I suspect that this will restrict me from getting physical products or at least small orders as shipping outside the US will be a significant factor.Albiegamer wrote:-- For physical products, half the order total may be paid for with ranger credit, the remaining half plus shipping must be paid by check or credit card.
Not that I think they should cover shipping but half the cost of the product plus shipping makes it a better deal for me to just get PDF products.

if you check the current rewards for the Ranger program (found at http://www.starfleetgames.com/rangers/index.shtml ) you'll see that it use to be:pixelgeek wrote:I suspect that this will restrict me from getting physical products or at least small orders as shipping outside the US will be a significant factor.Albiegamer wrote:-- For physical products, half the order total may be paid for with ranger credit, the remaining half plus shipping must be paid by check or credit card.

- $5 per event
- Using credit was limited to half of your order, you pay rest plus shipping
- No third party games (ACTASF, Starmada, etc).
- No PDFs
So.. the new program is quite the improvement for how much credit you can earn, and what you can use your credit for.
