*New Handbook Released! *

Post by Sgt Major Al Beddow »

Well, it's here folks - the New Star Fleet Ranger's Handbook.

A lot of work went into this and is approved by Stephen Cole, Steven Petrick, and our lovely Commandant Jean Sexton Beddow.

Lots of improvements and changes. Everyone is being sent the handbook via email. Here is what was said in the email itself:

Hello and welcome to the new and improved Star Fleet Rangers demo team! Attached you will find the new Ranger handbook, hot off the presses and blessed by Steve Cole, Steven Petrick, and Ranger Commandant Jean Sexton Beddow.

This new handbook supersedes *everything* on the ADB website on how the Star Fleet Rangers operate. So please read the handbook closely. It outlines how to submit your demonstration events, report those events to get credit for them, and how to spend your credit (unfortunately, it can't be spent for anything on anything from shapeways.com).

We are no longer using the web event submission/reporting pages. Instead, events must be submitted / reported via email to adbrangershq@gmail.com, using the format in the new handbook (you can just copy the appropriate part, paste in into a new email, then fill in the blanks).

Starting with events on 1 Sept 2021 or later your events must be properly submitted via email to at least 30 days prior to the event (late submissions approved on a case-by-case basis). For events being held during the month of Aug 2021 we understand you won't realistically be able to make the 30 day deadline so these will be approved on a case-by-case basis. The more lead time between the event date and when the submission email is sent, the greater the chance for it to be approved.

Right now only demonstration events are supported. We will be evaluating adding events like tournaments etc. once the program has been up and running a while.

Thank you,
Ranger Sgt Major Al Beddow

I like the handbook. Can't wait for convention to get back in the swing of things so we can have Tournaments covered as well.

Great to hear that!

Don't forget to have events in your local game stores.

** WARNING ** ** WARNING ** ** WARNING **

Just a heads up I messed up when making the handbook.

First, I made a copy of the handbook I wrote for the old Mongoose (Publishing) Infantry and missed the title in the document properties - it should not say "Welcome to the Mongoose Infantry" or something like that. I've fixed that.

Second, I sent out the version missing the copyright notice. That's what I get for *not* paying attention to version numbers.

So please toss out the earlier version and keep only this one.

Thank you
