I wanted to start this thread to explore the possibility of creating an "updated" 1st Generation "Bird/Hawk" designs that would fit in as an alternate War Cruiser, War Destroyer, War Frigate (updated Frigate).

The original War Eagle would updated and expanded, with an improvement in production to make it cheaper. This wouldn't be the whole upgrade to a King Eagle, but a considerable expansion to improve the War Eagle up to par with the Fed NCL (power-wise).

Bald Eagle War Cruiser
Expand central section (stretch) to allow an additional boxes:
+2 Central Hull
+2 APR
+1 AuxCon
+1 Trans
+Plasma-D rack (RH)
Warp engines would be expanded to be:
12 warp each (engine tech received from Klingons, D5 Engines)
1 FA+L/FA+R Phaser-1
1 RA+L/RA+R Phaser-3 (similar to R-Refit)
Cloak cost +2

So quick summary:
FA Plasma-R, RH-Plasma-D, 6P-1s, 2P-3s
24 Warp, 6 IMP, 2 APR, 6 BTTY

MC=1 still, and I still can't come up with a good way to lighten it's load to reduce it's MC.

Not bad for a War Cruiser hull, except for the movement class problem.

So doing the same to a Battlehawk to make a War Destroyer. Stretching the hull and increasing it's warp engines.

Warp Engines are now:
2x8 box engines (F5 engines)
1 RA+L/RA+R P3 (same as Plus Refit)

18 warp, 6 imp, 4 BTTY, 2APR

(This would obviously be much better than a Skyhawk-A)

The Snipe could then be expanded also the same way.

Bald Snipe (heh), expanding the central hull of a Snipe-B.

Warp engines are:
2x6 warp
1 FA+L/FA+R P-1
1 RA+L/RA+R P3

So quick summary:
Plasma-G, Plasma-F, Plasma-D RH, 3 P-1, 2P-3
12 Warp, 2 Impulse, 2 BTTY, 1 APR.

The Bald Eagle would be very similar to the F-NCL (6 P-1s, 4 Photons, Drone-G vs Plasma-R, 6 P-1s, Pl-D, cloak).

The Bald Hawk would be very similar to the F-DW (4 P-1s, 3 Photons, Drone-G vs. 4 P-1s, 2Plasma-G, Pl-D, cloak)

The Bald Snipe would be very similar tothe F-FFG (3 P-1s, 2 Photons, Drone-G vs. 3 P-1s, Plasma-G, Plasma-F, Pl-D, cloak).

P.S. I'm sure others have thought of updating the 1st Gen Romulans so I'm sure this isn't a totally new idea.
