I just did an analysis of the Shiva mauler. With a peak damage output of 566 points, it can destroy anything in its path. This got me to thinking: Why not a mauler based on the Devastator? the ssd, being round, and an astronomical potential damage output inspired the names abreviation.

Thus ends the munchkin wars. *evil grin*

I'm still an advocate of a tourney ship with a single TRH (FH) and 2 TRLs (LS, RS).
first of all, unlike all other races, In the current format, a single torp hit will eliminate 50% of this ship's heavy weapons. My idea will make this more doable and more competitive. Second, it is a clear representation of all available weapons for this race.
I've presented this idea many times, and while ignored often, has never had an argument against it.

1.) This is not the topic for discussing tournament ships.

2.) I hate to say it, but a Devastator Mauler is "An Obvious Variant" and has been from the point where we did Shiva if not before. We are just not that sick (well . . . it has been on the "All Hallows Eve" list a couple of times).
