Paravian Early Raid Mothership

In both Captain's Log #28/Stellar Shadows Journal #2 and in Star Fleet Battles Module C6, the "modern" Paravian fleets include dreadnought-sized Raid Motherships (and, in the case of Module C6, a battleship raid mothership also). Notably, in the case of the C6 incarnation, it's stated that the Middle Years Paravians in any of the "Paravian timelines" presented in that volume would have used these hull variants rather than building early "combat" dreadnoughts, akin to the Klingon C6 or the ISC DNE.

To look back at the SFB Y-modules for a moment, it's noted that both the warp-refitted dreadnought and early dreadnought - both of which are "combat" variants - have question marks over whether or not either of them historically existed. Or, if they had, if they were used in combat against their Gorn nemeses.

But, if one were to look at it from another angle, perhaps the same preference to use these hulls as long-range logistical support assets, rather than as attack platforms in their own right, which marked the Middle Years Paravians in Module C6 could also have applied to their Early Years counterparts. In other words, if one were to create an early raid mothership SSD (and/or a warp-refitted version of the same), perhaps those could have been the hulls constructed by the Paravians in this era.

While this could allow one to work up a campaign in which a long-range Paravian raiding force is using such a ship as a "home base", I think a more far-reaching advantage of making such hulls historically exist could be to have one (or more) of them escape to Wingatha prior to the establishment of the Gorn blockade of Paravia... and, once the home world was lost and the exiles on Wingatha decided to up sticks and head for pastures new, one (or more) of those could have been used as colony arks for the long flight to the Omega Octant.

While much remains to be decided as to what happened once the Paravians reached their destination, it could even be that these hulls could have helped get the new Omega-Paravian empire up and running - either by helping to construct the space-based facilities needed to maintain the new realm, or in terms of being picked clean for spare parts and components used to improve conditions on the surface of the new home world.

In short, perhaps the presence of Early Years raid motherships could both provide the Paravians of that time period with more long-range campaign options while still in the Alpha Octant and, perhaps more importantly, provide a key logistical asset in the long exodus from Wingatha to their new perch beyond the Void.
