Well How about a Jindarian planet? A asteroid the size of Mars? With 2 railguns per hexside. Two bomber groups and fighter squadrons?

OK, I've been on WYN kick lately, what can I say...

WYN ORCA-A "MOBY DICK" STASIS CRUISER (CWA): In one of the more dramatic Klingon raids on the Cluster, a D5A Stasis Cruiser failed to return to Klingon space. Reports from the surviving ships varied, but it was feared that the seperated boom might not have been destroyed and could have fallen into the hands of the WYN. While the reports could never be confirmed, this is what the Klingons feared the WYN might do with such a device.

It is unknown if a SFG ever fell into WYN hands, but the Orca was the most likely ship to mount it (The larger CA was too rare to risk on dangerous statis missions and the CW had enough speed to effectively employ the device). The GIA obtained Klingon files on this ship and codenamed it "Moby Dick". Had such a ship been built, it might have made any attempt to penetrate the WYN Radiation Zone virtual suicide.

Been trying to recall if auxiliary drone cruisers were ever mentioned/created. If not, what I have in mind is taking a FL/S that was going to be turned into a FEL/S and install 6/3 drone racks, probably removing some cargo spaces. Would be slower than a DF or CD, but could be useful in local defense.

By James Lowry (Rindis) on Friday, December 02, 2005 - 01:00 pm: Edit

F&E has auxiliary drone ships for the Kzinti only. The stated idea is that they thought (before the GW actually started) that the front line of a war would not shift any faster than the auxes could move, therefore making them useful for general defense and sustained offensive campaigns. They were destroyed early on, and a couple more were built (out of deperation) in the period after Lyrans had PFs and before the Kzintis had them.

By the SIT, they are Y165 and appeared in CL22.

Well even though I dont have a way of posting the SSD I have the untimate "Scary Ship".

The Early War Orion Salvage Dreadnaught

Think of the possibilities of an Orion CA with the wings removed and Replaced with The wings of a Salvage Cruiser.

Thats 50 points of hypeable warp for those of you who dont have the SSD's handy.

Yes its sick, I have an SSD in autocad form and I recently got a scanner/ copier. I just need to figure out how to play with it right and I might be able to post it somewhere.

Yes I ran out of my meds awhile ago and need help!

If you want a "scary" ship take a look at this one.

http://www.inpayne.com/models/kitbash/trekpage_lion.html

It's a battleship using a NCL as the primary hull with two mega-phaser wings/torpedo bays. I love the concept and the model is nice to.

Since it's almost Halloween, I think it's time for some scary ships. Here's one:

Anyone can make a scary ship along the lines of the WYN KB11X or the Kzinti SDSCS (super duper space control ship) but those ships aren't so much scary, as just BIG. But here's one with a BPV of around, oh, 75...

RYN ENCLAVE COMMANDO FRIGATE (FFG)
Take the Ryn FF and replace the two TCBs with 3 barracks boxes. Add one GAS shuttle.

And that's it.

Why is this scary? Well, by itself, it's not scary. But put it in a fleet, and...

Realize that it has 30 quantum transporters. These can be used as regular transporters. Oh, and they have a range of 15 hexes. Oh, and it does not have to drop its shields to transport, as it has armor instead of shields. Oh, and any other Rynish ships in the fleet can use their quantum transporters to beam marines from the FFG. If you set it up right, the FFG could be 30 hexes away from the enemy ship, with an intermediary Ryn to transport the BPs from the FFG to the enemy.

Let's throw on a legendary marine major, just to maximize the scariness.

You say you brought a WYN KB11X? It's mine, just as soon as I drop one of your shields...

My scary ship

The Orion Early War Dreadnaught

Also known as the SALDN

Ok an Orion clan boss had his Ca pretty torn up trying to cross the neutral zone early in the general war.

In his shipyard his cruiser size slot is building a Sal. He pulls out the Sal to build a new CA.

As construction is nearing a finish he realizes he doesnt have enough Capital/reasources to finish the CA properly, but he does have a close to complete SAL to scavenge a few parts from.

So to complete his CA he needs to remove the wings from the SAL and install them on the CA, engines and all. With the extra space and power he can install a few more systems and weapons to round it out.

Power: 50 warp
8 impulse
4 battery
Weapons: 4 options
12 Ph 1
4 Drone
4 Ph3
4 Add
Other: 6 Tractor
6 Transporter
1 Probe
1 Lab
4 Shuttle
8 cargo
6 Control, 2 Brg, 2 Flg, 2 Aux
Shields: 1 50, 2-6 48, 3-5 44, 4 40

Cost 210

Yea I know it/I'm sick but it is both SCARY and Possible.

You may throw things at me now.

My entries for the day, of an eastern flavor:

"Old Style" Romulan Battleship

I like the older Roms better, so something like this was just aching to be done.

But, can't let the Roms have all the fun...

Gorn Heavy BB

In SSJ2 there was some odd Gorn ship with this long aft hull. So, replace the aft bubble of a standard Gorn DN with it, and you get this.

Consider: What would Jindarians do with a cloaking device?

Answer: Put it on a really big rock.

500-1000+ BPV
5-10 crew
really big warp engines, lots of AWR/APR, 4 x roll out T-Bomb racks with 40 T-Bombs
ATF and 300 to 500 point armor belts

Dubbed the "Invisible Planet Cracker" by the effect that it had on the now destroyed Snarnack Homeworld. Snarnacks have been extinct since they made the unfortunate choice to make an enemy out of the Jindarians. Records of this event are stored in Federation files under 'Nightmare Simulations'.

Scary Ships? OK, I'll try.

WYN-Jindarian Light Cruiser with drone-C racks loaded with double-space drones in option mounts A through D and a stasis field generator (the one discussed in "Threads of War", CL#30, purchased from the Orion Cluster Cartel) in option mounts E and F. Fighters should be drone-armed types.

Here's a scary ship. The Convoy Control Ship. Large Ore Freighter hull with 6 forward firing photons, 2 rear firing. Eight PH-1 (one hardpoint on each corner that surrounds the pods), 4 PH-3 (in the center of these supports). 18 F-18 fighters, 6 A-10 attack fighters. Military engines and cruiser shields.

Was thinking of how the Nancy of the WYN might have been done if designed by a Fed engineer. Each forward pod holds 8 AWR. The two rear photons are armed by the ships 12-point engines (removed from exhausted old light cruisers).
Each rear pod holds 9 F-18 and 3 A-10. A10 photon capacity hasn't been decided on as yet.

Doesn't replace escorts.

More fun with Romulans Dreadnoughts:

Super-Optimized Condor-H (SROC) Heavy Dreadnought

This is what would have happened if the ROC Senator was built from a CNH instead of a CON+, or if it had later received the CNH improvements. This is essentially a melding of the CNH and ROC upgrades.

Surely a scary ship. Enjoy!

Dug into my archives for three scary Federation ships:

BCH firepower crammed into a Size-4 Move-5/6 package: Heavy Destroyer with Deck House

Taking the above to the full-stop limits: Command version of HDDH

Okay, maybe this one is more for April Fool's Day: Spare-parts Dreadnought

A little present for J.E. Hacker, our resident fanatical Gorn.

R6.?? Gorn Heavy Battleship

Yeah, yeah...I know. It's obscene. But, it's fun, too!

Happy Halloween!

Federation BCX

BOO!

Well, it's a little late, but here's my Scary Ship: Federation - Heavy Destroyer w/ Deckhouse.

http://members.cox.net/garth.getgen/HDDH.gif

BCH firepower crammed into a Size-4 Move-5/6 package. Per Petrick, it's just "too good" to be a real ship, thus has to go into either Scary Ships or April Fools ships.
