Not sure if anything was put down in writing, just wondering how the Ottoman Empire treated the Jews before the Brits took over in 1919 and set the stage for permanent warfare.....

In fairness to Jessica (whose plan will not work as any election will put terrorists in power) and Bibi (whose plan has at best a 0.1% chance of working because even picking a non-terrorist and putting him in power means he would have to hire government officials who are terrorists as there isn't much else.

It's still a cheap shot to say that Netanyahu is too stupid to learn a lesson. From what we can all see, his plan is the only one with a non-0% chance of working.

The problem is 75 years of teaching school children in Gaza that they are victims of Western aggression who stole Arab land to install a fake government (i.e., Israel) and that terrorism is the only way to change things.

Which is why my plan (execute everyone over the age of 5 and have the children given a non-political education) is the only one that could possibly work and it is (I freely admit) a war crime and a crime against humanity and genocide and probably fattening and likely to cause cancer. Which is why no one (even me) considers it plausible. I suppose the idea of sending all of the Israelis to form a colony on Mars would be equally effective and is equally implausible.

"Next year on New Jerusalem"?

By Jessica Orsini (Jessica_Orsini) on Sunday, June 08, 2025 - 09:09 am: Edit

Mind, in 2006, Hamas only beat Fatah by four points. Courtesy of the deprivations experienced in Gaza over the past two and a half years and the knowledge in the populace that Hamas has been stealing much of the aid, Hamas has lost rather than gained support among Gazans. As such, I submit that an election in Gaza after the measure I described in my plan is rather far from a foregone conclusion for Hamas.

By Jason E. Schaff (Jschaff297061) on Sunday, June 08, 2025 - 09:45 am: Edit

Mr. Howard - While I agree that point 1 has its merits, for points 2 and 3 I ask,"Should the destination country be Madagascar?" Bonus points to anyone who gets the historical reference.

In general, I think one possible non-atrocious outcome in Gaza would be to continue clearing out terrorists in the strip until the Palestinian population runs out of people willing to pick up a gun and fight. Then implement a combination of a massive rebuilding program combined with something equivalent to the post-WW2 de nazification program in Germany. Everyone has some threshold of psychological trauma beyond which they'll give up on fighting against an inevitable outcome. At that point, the same people will tend to become very grateful to those who help them rebuild their lives. Ugly as hell, but it neither involves indiscriminate slaughter nor a repeat of October 7.

As a side-point to those who decry the death toll in the Gaza strip, WW2 left about 6% of Germany's pre-war population dead. The Gaza strip, just as indoctrinated in hate, is nowhere close to that number yet.

Next year in Cydonia?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Sunday, June 08, 2025 - 12:42 pm: Edit

“Runs out of people willing to pick up a gun and fight.”

Every time you kill someone who picked up a gun, two more pick up a gun. The only way to run out is to kill them all, which is madness and impractical.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Sunday, June 08, 2025 - 12:56 pm: Edit

Howard’s plan is dead on arrival.

Israel is never going to agree because they either lose their homeland forever or end up right back where they are. As Jessica said, they end every holiday dinner with the toast “next year (we will be having this dinner) in Jerusalem.”

The Palestinians are on a Mission From God TM to destroy Israel and murder all Jews. Losing the bidding war would mean the religiously impossible “giving up all rights” so they would just take the money paid for what land they had and use it to buy guns. Not to mention that no nation anywhere will take the troublesome Palestinians.

This is ultimately a religious war. Israel says “God gave us this land, and we ain’t leaving.” The Arabs say “we conquered this land and killed most of you and if you don’t leave we will kill the rest of you.”

Building an Island doesn’t work. The artificial Chinese islands, and the ones built by Arabs in the Gulf, are constantly eroding.

Madagascar was one of the options for a Jewish Nation.

SVC - no nation is taking them in - it'a pure purchase and so the previous owners just get new neighbours.

Selling side moves out - buying side takes full ownerships - selling side then gets the money for their new nation.

Those that remain are wanted by the buying nation - so your Terrorist or illegal Settler will not be there to cause trouble.

By Gregory S Flusche (Vandar) on Sunday, June 08, 2025 - 06:15 pm: Edit

Paul So you sell to the highest bidder? The money comes from wear. There are far more countries that want the Jews gone and dead. They would have no chance of buying the land and no place would sell them new land.

The main difference now from when the Jews had no homeland. Is that the Jews have said no more we will no longer run. We will not take abuse. We will fight. The WORLD cannot stand that. A victim of bullying should just cower in fear are just kill themselves.

There is no answer no easy fix. In this country we still have racism. Fron the times of slavery. The hatred of Jews has been going on far longer than that. My GOD is the only GOD yours is a lie. You must die.

The answer is to stop preaching the hatred of each other. To learn to get along with each other. I am sorry to say that Humans are just not ready for that. To many people out ther want to conrol very one else. Force them to live by their morals and rules. (witch of course do not apply the them) Religion is power.

Just remember in Conan the scene where he has the girl walk of a cliff. That is power not steel.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Sunday, June 08, 2025 - 08:23 pm: Edit

Howard; selling side moves WHERE? No Arab state will accept the Palestinians, and neither will anyone else. Plus, they won't accept your plan unless guaranteed to win, in which case Israel won't accept it. But they won't accept it no matter what since the Arabs would just stay put and keep trying to kill them. Your plan died on arrival.

Someone emailed me wanting a clarification on the rules.

If you say "Netanyahu's plan cannot work; I don't know what will." You are fine.

If you say "Netanyahu's plan cannot work; some people never learn." That is a cheap shot, a personal insult against a man doing the best he can in an impossible situation, and will get deleted. Unless you actually have a plan that will work, even then, the cheap shot isn't needed here.

Gregory and SVC

Money comes from - where ever that side can get it - for the Jewish Nation - money from around the world - for the Palestinian name money from mainly the Middle East.

(By selling land to developers and commercial enterprises in Greater Isreael or Greater Palestine for your expanded nation, some of that money would be re-couped)

And sorry your mising the main point on where they move - it where ever wants to sell them a small land area.

That could be West of Darwin in Australia - it could be Tenerife - it could be Eastern Cuba - it's which ever nation wants a sum of money and is happy to sell land to the Palestinians (or New Isreal) -so your right, it's unlikely an Arab State would want them - but they don't have to - unless the price is right.

Both sides get a peaceful land - away from the other one - and it's clear, neither side wants to live with the other side, other than on their terms (just look at what is happening in the West Bank and the huge number of Settler Outposts being exapanded into full commmunities - and equally, people still don't understand why Hamas is so evil and needs to be removed as a Cancer - but not by killing the Patient).

By Carl-Magnus Carlsson (Hardcore) on Monday, June 09, 2025 - 04:06 am: Edit

Paul, since we have group think but not group mind (yet) there is always the problem that some human beings are ready to sell and move, while other will fight tooth and nail for their homes. Even in the big sparsely habited interior of Australia there live people who think of it as 'home'.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Monday, June 09, 2025 - 04:19 am: Edit

Paul, neither side is going to agree to the auction. Neither side will accept losing it. They don’t just want the other gone, they want the holy land.

By Paul Howard (Raven) on Monday, June 09, 2025 - 10:02 am: Edit

Well, it looks like Plan B then.

Announce the Japanesse have found the secret lair of Godzilla.... and they beleive it's about to awake - and the only way to save the planet from Godzilla's destruction is to use Nuclear Weapons to level eveything in the Gaza Strip, Israel and the West Bank (and some of the neighoubouriing countires too) to atoms - so everyone has 28 days to leave and get to a safe distant.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Monday, June 09, 2025 - 01:17 pm: Edit

Paul is at least trying to be funny. For those won't don't know, it would take a whole lot of nukes to cover an area 263 x 71 miles. If you assumed standard sub-megaton bombs that melt a zone about two miles wide, you would need about 3500 bombs to reduce the entire area to glass. A dozen or two would wreck Israel as a nation, but Paul wanted to burn the whole place to the bedrock, and heck, let's do it right or not do it.

Jeff, I have warned you before, you are not the one in charge of policing behavior here. Leave it to me.

By Gregory S Flusche (Vandar) on Monday, June 09, 2025 - 06:48 pm: Edit

Paul no one would give Jews money. No one would sell them a place to live. If it were up to a lot of the US black persons would all have to live in a ghetto and be paid less money the elite white people. Yes, sadly there are still people in this country that think like that.

Hating Jews has been the thing for a very long, long, long, time. The protests at our collages proved that it is still ok to be a racist.

Everyone is taught this from a young age. It will take forever to teach people and we humans are not ready to accept that we are one people regardless of where we are from or what religion we practice. There are always those who want power.

Sorry, everyone this racist stuff makes me very angry. Some times i feel ashamed to be a white male as it is put out.

By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Monday, June 09, 2025 - 07:06 pm: Edit

IMO the very idea of racism is racist. The real problem is the natural human tendency to categorize everything (e.g., race), and then to assign metadata tags to those categories (e.g., good or bad). Therefore, to focus on issues of race as a means for solving race issues only begs the problem.

The solution is to train ourselves to avoid classifications and instead to focus on human dignity. If all humans are worthy of equal human dignity, then the questions become one of equitable resource management and distribution or settling freedom of choice conflicts, not race at all.

In other words, if Jews and Palestinians both saw each other as humans worthy of human dignity and the right to survive - and not as "Jews" and "Palestinians," then the problems in the middle east probably would have been solved decades ago.

Of course, those issues are also often intractable (and often a cause of war), but if you start from the fundamental premise that humans have an inalienable dignity, then even the problems of resource management and freedom of choice conflicts becomes more tractable.

To date, Hamas has refused to recognize Israel's right to exist and preaches hatred of Jews. That kind of makes a peace deal impossible.

So, the sides revert to the laws of physics (i.e., war) to settle the dispute.

SVC? I would like to address the unrest regarding border enforcement.

HOWEVER, there is the long-standing (and wise) policy to NOT discuss politics here on The Boards, and due to the clearly partizan nature of both sides of this issue, I have cause to believe the matter may be too political for discussion here.

As the ultimate arbiter of YOUR boards, is this a subject you would prefer we do NOT discuss here?
