Vulcan Psi Powers

Post by Jeffr0 »

Okay, I just got GPD and GURPS Feds fresh off of e23. Nice!

"For more see GURPS Basic Set or GURPS Federation" p 72 GPD

I checked GURPS Feds and didn't find anything. Did they get cut at the last minute maybe...?

Is this page in GPD all that we have on Vulcan Psi Powers..?

Gurps Feds, page 56 is the only thing I've read that talked about Psi.

In GURPS Basic: Characters, page 254 /Chapter Six is what I use for all Psionics.

I don't recall reading any else specific in GPD.

Wow... it sure costs a lot of points to get Neck Pinch up to Spock levels of performance.

Yes, that's my opinion too... I always ran it as the "Neck Pinch" was some sort of special Vulcan marital arts, which would be expensive to be an expert in it.

You need a way to buy off the penalty for the location. (A separate technique from the affliction advantage.)

The affliction needs to be at least at level 3 or 4 to be as effective against HT 10 folk as what you see in the show-- I don't think it ever failed.

Hmm.... Beating the dodge is another issue. I'd allow a stealth roll to get into position for that under certain circumstances-- say... having the cute one chat the target up, maybe.... (Her margin of success would be a bonus for the vulcan.)

Yeah.... This will be an exception to the 125 point limit. Vulcans should have this at Affliction-5... along with some kind of technique to improve chances of hitting... along with decent stealth skill.

Wait... let it be a bog standard Judo roll modified by Psi Talent, that's fair enough... without making up some kind of technique.
